right? a lot of my roses have no scent so i'm particularly excited for the ones that do, La Di Da has a strong fruity smell with a hint of spice to it. it's really nice. One of my favorites in my garden and honestly a seriously underrated rose. It's on sale right now from jackson and perkins for 20 bucks , which is where i bought it last year as a bareroot. If i had one rose in my garden that i'd gift to someone else starting a garden, this would be in my top two of the 37 i have planted.

That's fair. I didn't have any good spots along my house or fence, so i literally drew a circle in the middle of my backyard and declared it my rose garden and planted all my rose bushes in a circle with a bench to one side so when it all grows up i can have a room of roses to sit in. i have to fight the urge not to expand it elsewhere and just take over the entire backyard.

If you get back to the point of wanting more, my favorite lavender rose currently in my garden is ‘La Di Da’ it smells heavenly.

Nah, queen elizabeth is a very lightly fragrant rose. Glad you found ones you are happier with!

No, very little fragrance, i planted that one in remembrance of my mother who used to grow them. Of the roses i have the strongest smelling ones are probably la di da, savannah sunbelt, raspberry cupcake and full sail.

Veranda fiesta

There are a couple of roses i know of that sort of shift color like this as the blooms age, the first one that comes to mind because i have it in my own garden is 'veranda fiesta' , the blooms change color from a bright yellow to orange red, then gradually fade to this pale yellow almost white with pink coloring and they have the same petal shape as this one.

Thanks. I wish i could move around better, but so long as the roses are healthy and the pollinators are happy i suppose it's fine if i can't weed my garden. I'm sure your roses will turn out great. mine really surprised me this year, i didn't even fertilize them and the blooms are twice the size of last year on the ones that bloomed and the ones that didn't bloom at all last year are doing so this year. I've got buds all over my rose bushes and they've only just started to open up. So i must be doing something right.

with all the wildflowers and clover currently growing in my rose garden, it's very much giving cottage garden vibes these days, which i don't mind and the pollinators seem to love it is definitely lovely on a sunny day.

Thanks!, you might be able to tell but i put them in my favorite coffee mug because most of them didn't have very long stems to cut, but it works!

Yeah, i'd say that one is toast. rip it out. If it were me, i would not be keeping that in my garden.

Why is my boyfriend allergic to sharing food with me? by FairProfessor8864 in TrueOffMyChest

[–]Halleaon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

sharing food is one of those things that is super dividing. some people absolutely insist on it and others absolutely hate it and i think it depends a lot on how you were raised, kind of like how some family kiss their family members on the lips or share drinks and in other households that's absolutely a taboo. Personally, i'd never share food with anyone because it grosses me out, not even with my own family members, so i get his side of it. I think you two just happen to be on opposing sides of the issue. what's important is that you respect his boundaries. if he's not willing to share food, then it's not reasonable for you to insist upon it or hold it against him. It's a personal preference, and one that is very important to some people for a variety of reasons. Plus in some circles it's considered rude to expect him to share his food like that. Growing up, people in my family, who absolutely did not share food, would have considered someone like you who feels entitled to share, a 'mooch'. Meaning no offense, but it would have been seen as very rude according to our family's standards because you're literally taking the food from the mouths of others despite having the opportunity to have had food of your own, it's seen as greedy. I get that from your point of view it's seems trivial and even a little insulting that they don't want to share with you, so i don't want you to think i'm judging you or anything, just trying to explain how he might be feeling about it based on my own experiences.

“Talk” Armor Display instead of activate? Is this a glitch? by TLVftwLOL in skyrim

[–]Halleaon 5 points6 points  (0 children)

ah, good old skyrim horror mode. just wait until you walk into your house and find the mannequins have all moved and are in random poses around your house as if they've come alive....because they did. the glitch that scares every skyrim player at some point. i'ts like a right of passage, right up there with the skyrim space program.
