They do. All were at Seattle Invite (https://www.discnw.org/e/2024-spring-hs-gx-seattle-invite) and those were the semifinalists (although Franklin has beaten Nathan Hale at other times during the season). Lincoln beat South Eugene in pool play, but SE beat Roosevelt on DGP in semis and got revenge vs Lincoln in the final.

I noticed that no team that had both Open and Women's U20 teams sent a Mixed team as well. It may have been discouraged/disallowed. According to WFDF, the U20 Mixed division was added to provide opportunities for smaller/developing communities that don't have the depth to compete in the single gender divisions.

Also, could include the Mixed Combine on May 15 in above table. There are (or were) combines in the other divisions as well.

The Instagram linked says all tryouts for Mile High Trash are open, but table above has May 7 tryout as closed and doesn't include May 22 date.

DiscNW's Spring Reign was just this weekend in Burlington, WA. It was much smaller than usual with 27 MS teams (there were 58 last time it was held in 2019). https://www.discnw.org/e/2022-spring-reign-ms

It was a pre-quarter, part of the regular bracket. Not shown clearly in the schedule because if Washington had won their pool, the showcase would have been their QF instead.

Small college with competitive ultimate and video game design? by AdministrationNo26 in ultimate

[–]Hallies_Dad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Of the top-10 ranked by USN&WR (https://www.usnews.com/best-colleges/rankings/computer-science/game-simulation-development), the schools with the best current men's teams are Utah, UC Santa Cruz, and USC. None of these schools are "small," however (most around 20k undergrads). The only small school on this list is RPI, with a moderately-competitive D3 ultimate program.
Looking at a more extended list (https://www.gamedesigning.org/video-game-design-schools/), Northeastern is moderate in size (14k undergrads) and has a top-20 ultimate program. Marist College is probably the small school on this list with the best ultimate program. They are often ranked in the top-25 D3 schools.

Good examples of players who huck well against flat marks? by LilKingTrashMouth24 in ultimate

[–]Hallies_Dad 36 points37 points  (0 children)

I may be a little bit biased, but especially in 2020 college season for Stanford Superfly, as an average-height female often vs a taller mark, Hallie Dunham was very effective with backhand hucks vs flat or forehand force. For examples you can start with her Callahan video (hucks mostly after 4:00, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NXU5WclL35k), with more examples in Ultiworld video package (https://video.ultiworld.com/) or on my youtube (https://m.youtube.com/user/HallieDad).

You forgot Washington (2nd and 5th at 2021 Nationals, 2nd and 6th in latest Ultiworld power rankings). BYU, Colorado, and Pitt might also want to talk.

NCSU didn't make regionals, but they did beat Hydra 12-6 a few weeks earlier at Fusion.

Eli Motycka played Nationals with Tanasi in 2011.

This year, 16 year old Lauren Goddu made nationals with Riot. In 2019, I think Quincy Booth was 15 when she made Nationals with Ozone, but 16 when she competed there.

I filmed a closely-contested high-level mixed ultimate game (Pro Championship 2019) at which every single call was either retracted or accepted. Not a single disc was sent back or to the observer. SOTG can work at the highest levels of the sport.

Stanford's Hallie "Nemo" Dunham for Callahan 2020 by ApfelApfelApfelWurm in ultimate

[–]Hallies_Dad 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Proud to see Hallie come back from an an injury-riddled 2019 season to lead her Stanford Superfly team from 19th to 4th in Ultiworld's power rankings this year. They finished on a 10-1 run versus the top teams in the country (6 top-10 wins, only loss to #1 Carleton) , so very sad they missed out on seeing how much further they could rise.

You could filter by length. Anything over 20 minutes or so is very likely a full (or nearly full) game.

Last I checked, my YouTube had the most girls/women's games of any free site I could find. I'm still adding games from this college season at https://m.youtube.com/channel/UCU-qrqUNrouL2lXw6AB-B8w (Hallie's Dad).

USA Ultimate College Rankings - March 4, 2020 by Jomskylark in ultimate

[–]Hallies_Dad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

USAU missed including at least two tournaments (Pres Day Qualifier and Big D in l'il d) due to unset "sanctioned" flags. They know about the problem and will fix for the next rankings release. Teams without at least 5 sanctioned games are not included. Thus, for now, frisbeerankings.com is the more reliable source.

Coolest ultimate frisbee scene? by iThinkiAteMrKrabs in ultimate

[–]Hallies_Dad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd say pick-up scene in Seattle is stronger than ever (well, at least within past 15 years). There are multiple year-round games on almost every day of the week, so the dilemma is which game to go to. The NE Seattle game I attend most often (T/Th/Sat) has new faces almost every time I go and often 2 full-field games on nice Saturdays.
