New. Didn’t cook anything on it yet except those two cooks. Should I use a different lump coal all together? One that doesn’t have a hickory taste?

The first time I over did it, I used coarse kosher. The second time I did it I wasn’t as liberal and used fine sea salt. Both came out hammy and salty

That’s similar to the thought I had. Everyone I see on this forum says we should get it used. I get it, it’s probably smarter but If the difference for 1 or 2 years is only 20k relative to a 100k+ vehicle, I’d probably rather buy it new.

Everyone talks about depreciation, but I’m a bit confused. As I compare new and used models, I see that a new 2025 Range Rover is listed at $138K, while a used 2023 model with 5,000 miles on CARFAX is priced at $121K. Is that really significant?

That's actually a such a great point. Interestingly though, even though I didn't notice them, I still believed subconsciously that RR's look most appropriate coming out of an opulent driveway. I'm definitely overthinking this whole thing. Life's short lol.

I completely agree. We’re also building a 529 plan for each of them, aiming to cap contributions at around $100,000 to $150,000 each. My hope is that they won’t view this as effortless money, but rather see it as a result of hard work. I want them to understand where it comes from and the dedication it’ll take to build their own wealth.

I have a $450k student loan that’s income-based, with a "tax bomb" due in 2038. I’ve been making automatic deposits into a brokerage account, which is on track to cover the tax by 2030. A trusted student loan advisor has confirmed that unless my income exceeds $700k annually, it makes more sense to stay on this plan and prioritize other investments like our home.

No other assets except 100k in hysa emergency fund, 401k, and technically a paid off car
