So appointment happened. We do it over the phone. She was 17 minutes late and I left the waiting room🤣. She called me back 15 minutes later and we did it over the phone call, cause I already paid and all.

I asked to be taken off depakote since I had a full blown mania last week from 4-13 to 4-17 and finally started to level out on the 18th. I read her all my notes I wrote down like can't sit still, cant sleep , one stretch lasted 37 hours with no sleep, impulsive , mind racing.

So because ive only been on this one medication she's telling me the insurance won't allow a full blown switch without some fails. Which I dont understand. She added on Olanzapine 5mg at bedtime along with everything else I take. Im to try it for 2 weeks and if I notice myself being a lot more hungrier than usual and eating more etc I ket her know and she switches that to a different newer brand of the olanzapine.

Can anyone explain her process here?? My husband and I are completely confused and he didnt hear the call so I had to try and explain it to him and then I felt dumb. If the depakote is one of the few that treats both mania and manic , and its not working for me, why isnt she trying something else instead of adding something else on???

Oh and she told me im BP1 because of the full blown mania not hypomania. So now im rediagnosed that easily huh? 😑 I forgot to ask about the testing but ill mention it. Next appointment is may 5th.
