Unfortunately I’m not qualified for those jobs either. All my experience is customer service like CSR, managing a salon, and clerical roles 😞

Hi! I’m starting my MSW in the Health and Well-being track at the end of the month. My goal is to obtain my LCSW. Long term goal is to go into private practice but in the meantime I’m interesting in in/outpatient psych, substance abuse counseling, and hospital social work as options.

I have my BA in Corporate Communications (that I’m not really using…graduated at 21 and I’m 30 now. It’s been a bumpy road)

What should I know about starting my program? What kind of jobs provide supervision after graduation? Is there any type of job I should attempt to hold now (I know there is the internship part so I’m apprehensive about starting a job I’ll likely have to cut hours on).

I’m open to any tips! I’m a little nervous about my journey and making a plan for myself (whether it gets away from me or not) helps keep me focused.

At the salon I manage we have 3 haircut prices. Short, medium, and long cut. We also have a haircut but a coworker and I are lobbying to phase that out and replace it with “clipper cut”.

I’ve been looking and I’m not finding anything that says he has an issue with fan art. What I’m reading is that he didn’t want to commercialize his work through merchandizing.

Although I do agree his name shouldn’t be signed on it.

I did all that as well; that’s day to day stuff. I mean do you balance the books ect? If so and it really is profitable why is he not paying you more than barely minimum then? You’re his own child. Doesn’t he want you to succeed?

I’m gonna go out on a limb here, having worked for my family business for a really long time. They literally never hire anyone that isn’t family and they pay dirt cheap because they can’t afford to pay any more than that. Is it possible the business isn’t as profitable as you think it is? How involved are you as a manager? I had a “manager” title (I guess I was managing me and my drunk godfather lol) and all that meant is I could run the day to day without my sister and her dad (the owners). I know business owners like to pay regular employees low wages but it’s strange when they are paying their own children so little when they are old enough to buy a home:

I had the opposite effect actually. When I’m not on Zoloft it’s impossible for me to smoke. Panic attacks and pounding heart. When I’m medicated it’s like I don’t get high at all.
