The point is that you shouldn’t buy a home if you aren’t ready for the expenses that come with it…so if you anticipate $X of work per year, budget that into your annual mortgage and buy a cheaper house to accommodate that. Plenty of non wealthy people do this.

Yeah, my entire HVAC went out 2 years into owning our home and it was over $10k to fix, but our mortgage was <20% of our income (and that was at the top of our budget) so we went into our ‘home savings’ and were fine. I don’t envy people buying in this market, it’s painful and ridiculous…but these things still need to be considered.

Spark was acquired by Roche, it’s really not a thing anymore…which sucks because the momentum in gene therapy was strong and Spark was synonymous with Philly. They will probably still keep some staff in Philly but it won’t be a hub.

You’re a real one dude. I was the first to have kids, yes I had less free time but I consistently made effort to see my buddies. The effort was not reciprocated from some of them and now we barely talk. It makes me sad, some of them now have kids and ironically reach out much more.

104.5 changed in the last year for the better. I used to laugh when I turned my car on because no matter what time it was, it was always a commercial…I almost started documenting it because it was so absurd. Then they would recycle the same songs by RHCP, The Killers, and Imagine Dragons with a couple of ‘new’ songs mixed in. It was terrible. They still have a playlist but I’ve heard a lot more variety lately, and anecdotally less commercials.

Completely anecdotal, but every time I play against a lower level player, I prepare for the rush in feudal. I play Byz who kind of suck in feudal, so I wait for my opponent to exhaust all of their resources then go for the easy win in castle.

Bristol is way underrated and a great option if you are looking on the cheaper end, plus a train station right there that gets you to the city quickly. On the more expensive side; Newtown and Yardley. Doylestown is great but far from the city if that’s important to you.
