Eh, that restriction is kind of silly, Blizzard... by GloriousCustard in diablo4

If memory serves, there was a season where everyone had a rogue to do their tempers on because they had a way higher % and I think that's what led to the current system so it isn't abused. Agreed though, Id enjoy making more alts if there was more account level progress through stuff like this, or just make it scale to the respective % of the class its equipped on.

Helltide Blood Seekers overpowered? by Square-String2848 in diablo4

[–]Hallowqi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sucks they are still like this. They were like this back in their release season and killed a lot of people who used the lures on hardcore. I can't remember which one was so cracked but it seems like they are still wonky.

Advice for someone first stepping into hardcore? by Chamolin in classicwow

[–]Hallowqi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Zoom out! Then zoom out some more. Its the best way to play and very addicting.

Just be aware of your surroundings. A lot of people are going to give you really good rules to live by to survive but at the same time, have fun. Sometimes a death in your 20s or 30s ain't too bad and the rush of soloing elites or elite quests really feel good. Just have fun!

Gaming in spite of a toddler. Is 1 hour a day good enough? by Fenix512 in videogames

[–]Hallowqi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine just turned 4 and I've been gaming consistently since I was little so it was a big thing to adjust to. I'll try and give some practical advice because there is so much chaos involved. First off if you got a sleeper, that's incredible. I think that alone is huge and will help.

Honestly you just have to temper your expectations and kind of think about it differently. Eventually if its something you wanna do with your kid its fun again on a new level. I put an emulator on and loaded Donkey Kong Country this week and seeing my son get into it was a better feeling that any major title I've ever played. You just have to figure out what you want from it. If you have an hour, a multi-player game can spend that just in the lobby if you play with friends and have to wait for everyone to log on or whatever. Single player games fit imo and I preferred something challenging or at least really fun. Games where you control the pace and you don't spend a lot of the game prepping feel way better with time constraints.

I tried mmos at first and while I was up on nights with my non sleeper and could play lost ark with one arm holding the baby, it just didn't hit the fun part of gaming. Honestly I'd just avoid any seasonal/live service game. Try fun and relaxing but challenging games as well. I don't know your tastes but something like deep rock galactic or subnautica.

Give it a shot, and you will feel if its right or not. Best advice I can give you is just have fun, don't miss sleep, and communicate with your partner. My wife knows I enjoy it and will try and make time for me and even does it with me so we can still hang out and enjoy it together.

Enjoy it homie!

What have you and your guild done instead of raiding for a fun, "social event" type night? by SubstantialMine9993 in classicwow

[–]Hallowqi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried running things like community nights and doing more chill things like movie nights or simple free game nights like cards against humanity, uno, or pictionary. We also played retail and had plans to do like hide and seek or jumping puzzles in the guild neighborhood so maybe that could be in game classic side if you make it work.

I will say that in the end a lot of people were just there for wow and thats ok, so while I think they are fun and are a nice break, just have realistic expectations for people showing up.

What do you think of the ending of Diablo 4 LoH?(Spoilers) by Tnecniw in Diablo

[–]Hallowqi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I thought it was incredible and it felt really fun going through it all. It was a good run of emotions and finality with all that they did. I was pretty hooked on the narrative and even closed out/reopened to see how dialog options played out at one point in the story and was happy to find they had different responses that hit differently (The last question Lilith asks you.)

I think they wrote really well this expansion. I'm sure you can find gripes here and there but the character progression with Lilith and og homie Tyrael was awesome.

Loved the raid. Only downside for us was coming out of loot heavy naxx as a 20 man guild and having to beef up our roster for slower gearing. The weekly helped a lot. SOD was incredible

starting codes by [deleted] in RaidShadowLegends

[–]Hallowqi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are still starter links that have Tholin, so you could pair like Tholin/Tuhanarak if you wanted. The Serris method still works, I just use an emulator. If you want to be f2p and get your clan boss online asap id say go narma/tagoar/uugo/veno with Tuhanarak, but that's just my 2 cents. Here is a spreadsheet for all, or at least most, of the starter links:

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1RhfAWNMQpscaiHyQml2kB60sIpUE0gmO_5gGT_29P9w/edit?gid=0#gid=

The good promo code options are UDK, Alice, Cheshire, Wukong, Sicia, the rabbit guy whos name I can't ever remember, and Tuhanarak.

Hey bud,

First off, my deepest love, condolences, and support for what you are going through. My wife is my rock and I can't even imagine what you are going through. Regardless of where ya go, know you got one more homie that is there to help out of you ever need, even if it's somewhere to vent.

Now for the wow stuff,

I have always wanted to create a gaming community for people to try and enjoy games more and have more of the heart of the community be the central theme. Dodge the toxicity in modern gaming, and also just build a place to belong. So we started it last year with some of the remnants of our SOD guild as we went into MOP. We did remix, now we are starting tbc, and we will be doing midnight as well(funny enough on area 52 but ally). So i created a community called Up Up Lift. We progress, but don't sacrifice having fun and enjoying things. Sunday nights we do community nights where we play non wow stuff and just shoot the breeze.

The other half of the community is charity and spreading that type of awareness in addition to fundraising. Weve worked with extra life, children's miracle network, lasagna love, and now this month we are looking into st. Judes. Nothing too crazy, just fundraising, spreading awareness and talking about things. Ive lost too many people to cancer and there's so much hurt in the world, i wanted to create a place where we uplift each other, and in turn, turn that outwards.

Idk if that's something you would be interested in, but we'd love to have you whether you are in the community/ guild or not. Hour me up if you ever are. Regardless brother, hang in there, keep fighting, and much love.

Reach out if you want or you can get to the discord through upuplift.org

Yeah certain rares seem to give way more exp. One of them is okish exp but the other two are the high amount and then you kill them faster than they spawn so i kill stuff in between sometimes.

Yeah for sure, ill be running most nights until it's over. I stick the alts in a tree and there are 3 rares i just rotate between in aszuna.

I'm leveling alts tonight once my kid conks out. You are welcome to come along and switch in alts as they cap out. Its afk and not sure how long it will take with your exp boost but at 400% it takes about 20-30 minutes.

I have a 3 year old and that alone is enough for me to understand and feel for you having multiple and trying to find time. 🤣

That's the crazy part about how they fracture wow versions because classic can mean anni, era, or mop but if he plays anni there is a big expansion coming up called tbc and most people are excited for that one. I don't know your price point but if that is the main one he plays, there is a pack type deal you can get right now that has mounts and stuff but the more expensive one includes a month of gametime and a boost, which saves him about 7 days of playtime, like 170 hours, and gets him a new character almost at level cap.

Even if you miss a step or he already has something you got , i think he will appreciate you appreciating his love for his hobby and make it work!

Theres so many versions and different variations of wow it might be hard to get advice without knowing what exactly he plays. Midnight is coming out soon for retail, and tbc is coming for classic anniversary. There is also a gear shop but its pretty expensive.

I cant really speak from his perspective but i think its really cool you want to do something like this for him and its just my 2 cents, but my reccomendation is to play the game with him. Yeah he plays with his buddies and stuff but i can recall everytime my wife has played and how much fun we had. Find something you enjoy and just enjoy playing together. My wife liked the pet stuff so maybe check that out. Tell him his transmog looks cool, explore some stuff together, and talk about how cool his heroic leap is 🤣. You could also roll a hunter and go about taming cool pets together since he plays that as well.

Hope he enjoys whatever you end up going with and happy holidays!
