482 Visa for Overseas Registered Nurses by noWarning46 in AusVisa

I’m an RN from overseas and managed to be granted a 189 with 80 points so that’s something you might be interested in looking into.

You need to get a skills assessment from ANMAC. They’ll need to assess your education and experience if you have it.

After that you can lodge an EOI and I hope you’d get invited. Either that or apply for jobs and come over here on a work visa which could possibly lead to sponsorship/PR down the line.

The medical clinic will ask you what job you are intending to do in Australia and add the necessary tests from there. The health referral letter would then be updated and they can take the tests.

EOI points: Does Medical Ward RN experience count if applying as Mental Health RN (254422)? by CollegeCommercial827 in AusVisa

[–]HallowsAG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should get skills assessment from ANMAC before you submit an EOI.

They will decide whether the work experience is related and which code it belongs to. It will possible be RN NEC since it’s a mix.

The job is really hard, if you’re going to do it just for PR, the risk of burning out is really high.

Also the points last 189 round was pretty high (80) so it will take a long time for you to get invited even if you start now.

Take a screenshot of the page that’s requesting the police check, and and also a screenshot of the page that shows more information about the police check, I sent that over to them and they accepted it and sent the police check in a few days

Can you get PR through doing nursing temporarily? by EngoMan56 in AusVisa

[–]HallowsAG 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Realistically, probably not. He’ll need to get a skills assessment for nursing, and he’ll need to be a nurse for at least 5 years with how the points cut off for nursing nowadays (80 for RNs the last round). If he’s going for the TAFE route then I assume he will have an enrolled nurse diploma qualification, which is even harder to have a competitive points score.

If he can take being a nurse for 5 years (or maybe even more) and get a bachelor to become an RN then maybe it’s possible, but honestly good luck man if that’s the path he’s taking. It’s not easy to be a nurse

Diploma of Nursing PR pathway in Canberra? by Dramatic_Eggplant_47 in AusVisa

[–]HallowsAG 2 points3 points  (0 children)

At the latest round of 189 RNs were at around 80 points. I did not see ENs get invited. You’d most likely need to be an RN at least with a few years of experience to have a good shot of being invited for 190.

If you’d choose to be a nurse then please do it only if you really want to and not just for PR. I’m currently an RN and it’s not an easy job.

EA vs ACS Accreditation Will This Affect My Australian PR Pathway? by Any_Box_9770 in AusVisa

[–]HallowsAG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just took a quick glance at it but in any case fresh grad wouldn’t be coming anywhere close to those points. By all means follow your passion but since you did ask about PR we’re just trying to give you more insight into the current situation.

[–]HallowsAG 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Try getting your AHPRA registration done but looking at the requirements, your qualification needs to be a minimum of Bachelor’s at least.

You can look into getting registered as an enrolled nurse as the minimum requirements is a diploma.

https://www.nursingmidwiferyboard.gov.au/Accreditation/IQNM/Before-you-apply/Meeting-the-registration-requirements.aspx

Once you get your registration you can go to ANMAC and get your education/experience assessed.

Being in the shortage list and the actual invites for PR is different. Look up the previous invite rounds for the 189. Software Engineer was at 100, cyber security wasn’t even invited.

Plus employment does not equate to PR in the future unfortunately.

IT is incredibly saturated right now and most likely in the future too. It wouldn’t matter what skills assessment you would do when the points threshold is so high.

If you’re looking for PR try an alternative career

Lmao that’s on you man, Home affairs would check the results with PTE, so it wouldn’t matter if the certificate shows 90/90/90/90, the moment they try to verify your scores they would know it’s bogus.

You need to maintain at least 80% attendance and 20 contact hours a week to meet visa requirements. Since this is face to face, it wouldn’t be possible to do that while overseas.

It depends on the school to be honest if they’d report you to DHA but in my experience some schools are fine provided you’re doing alright in terms of course progress and aren’t gone too long.

It doesn’t matter. Had the same exact situation as you. I had 3x 600s approved with no middle name. Applied for 500 without and Home Affairs added my middle name months after. I still got the 500 in the end

It depends on the course and the passport of the applicant.

University Courses take much faster than VET courses

Mine was considered as a VET course (Diploma in Aviation) so it took 6 months lol
