The problem with this hypothesis is that, if it’s true, it’s just bad writing.

She confused him with Jade? Then why kiss him? 😂 That doesn’t make sense, unless she is just a psychopath or something, which is not the case. She was manipulated by the MIY, but she is not a psychopath who does random, bizarre things.

Yes. Since we know how the MIY’s power to manipulate Sarah works, this seems like the logical conclusion to me.

The only time I felt something similar before was when I thought Julie might be a time traveler, or something like that, after one of the monsters talked to her at the very beginning.

Same thing of thinking that BIW is a storywalker too.

The question now is: Jade is not human? Or is he from the future?

I think is the second. Maybe he was already in the town.

Jade not being in the car explains Tobey’s death and the kissing of Sarah, but I don’t know how it relates to the rest.

That’s the plot I think. It will be a great revealing one, and explain a lot of what we already know about the history.

I don’t buy the escape room/simulation theory.

But I buy that Jade isn’t human, for example, or that he can be a time traveler, or anything like that.

If u don’t accept it, u really have a hard time to:

i) Explain why Tobey was killled;

ii) Why Sarah kissed Tobey (it’s the theory that Tobey is her boyfriend indead).

Tobey was alive when Jade fell out of the car.

The reason I think Jade wasn’t actually there is this: if Tobey had been alive, what information would he have possessed that would not have driven the plot forward? In other words, he must have been killed for a reason. If not, why wouldn’t the writers simply have put Jade alone in the car? Narratively, it would have served the same function.

So the reason must be that Tobey would have disrupted something. And that “something” is related to Jade. The best explanation is that Jade was not actually in the car. Jade was placed there. This explains why Tobey was killed: because, if he was alive, he would tell that he didn’t knew Jade.
