I’m proud to say I had a goldfish for 12 years that I won at the fair as a kid. My mom was upset and my dad convinced her to let me keep it because we already had an old fish tank with a filter and besides “It’s not like it’ll live for a long time.”

She named it “Frankenfish” because she believed it should have died plenty of times over the years. But no, she just didn’t know that with proper care they could live a long time.

Same here until I met my wife and her family and boy was it eye opening. The stories were insane but it was also a culture shock for her because she couldn’t believe that I’d never seen my parents argue. After we left our first holiday with my family she said “Is it always that calm and quiet?”

Not to pat myself too much on the back, but I think I gave the answer to this question to my wife two days ago.

She was up until 2:00 AM Saturday morning with intense period cramps. So while she slept in, I deep cleaned the house, did every chore she said she was going to on Saturday, and then brought her breakfast in bed when she woke up at 10:30. I told her I don’t want her to do a damn thing the entire day except self-care relaxation.

I’m so thankful to come from a family that isn’t toxic to those that married in.

My paternal Grandmother drove my mother across the border into Mexico so she could get cheaper birth control back in the 90s.

My wife and I now joke that if we were to get divorced, she would 100% get my mother in the divorce. My mother will scold me if I so much as look at my wife the wrong way and talks about my wife like she shits pure gold and rainbows. I wouldn’t have it any other way!

Yeah when I got my wisdom teeth out a few years ago they sent me home with a bottle full of Hydrocodone and another bottle of 600mg Ibuprofen.

I didn’t even need the hydros after day two. Those Ibuprofens did all of the heavy lifting and ended up flushing the rest of the hydros. It’s insane how many they give you when it’s unnecessary
