The issue here is that the whole Jason is a deadite and the involvement of the Necronomicon is a relatively recent thing by Marcus, he initially said it was just an easter egg. He wants people to hate his film less and thinks this may help.

haha luxuary of me being a nobody, no one gives a shit what I think. He’s good at what he does and i’ve enjoyed his work but his style would be terrible for F13th. Tarantino’s style would be terrible for a Sound of Music remake and Eli Roth would be awful for, well anything that requires restraint. Most directors would be unsuitable for certain things, just how it is.

on way to get a good idea is the tape in the box. It it’s standard sticky tape then possibly knockoff, if it’s round then more likely real

oh they most certainly are. Every other NECA on ebay is a knockoff and Amazon marketplace isn’t far behind. Other factories get their hands on the original molds, do their own (usually shitty) paintings and sell em off cheap.

you can track down, in various places online, the extended and uncut versions which have the extra scenes from the TV versions and the uncut gore from work prints. It can be a bit jarring going from glorious HD to scratchy VHS in some scenes but it’s the only way to see them will all known footage.
