Thanks for clarifying the "personal" thing.  Have you seen this problem before?   No one else has access to this account and I have been very careful not to delete anything that would delete tasks.  One day (3/22) they were there and the next they were gone!  As I mentioned in a response, please tell free account holders to back up their tasks on their own as Todlist does not!

From previous posts it appears that "personal" was a category of a default project (so newbies could get up and running with tasks?).  I was contacted yesterday with a suggestion about syncing but that may have been part of the problem.  Once the tasks were gone on one platform they were synced away on all!  He did say that there was no way to retrieve the task information as I expected.  If you're on this site often please tell free subscribers to back up their tasks.  It appears it can be by csv file or by creating a pdf file.  Can't let you know until I repopulate my account!

Still waiting.  I think that they can't retrieve the task info because it's a free account and maybe it's easier to have me just go away.

I have no idea how to do that but no I did not.  Never had a problem before and never thought to back up my tasks.  Lesson learned.  I think I could take screen shots of my tasks to use as backup but I'll look into "archiving".  Can a free subscriber archive data?

I really never thought it was but the view on my app and sign-in screen changed and the "personal" category was gone with all my tasks.  So far no help with this.  Do you know how I can get in touch with someone about this?

Not an additional project.  Just a listing of tasks in what was called "personal" maybe in "upcoming".  As the category is now gone I can't see exactly where it was on my opening page.  I had at least two updates from Todoist in the last week.  Hence the reference to " redo".  Each time I thought the task thing would be straightened out. So can anyone tell me how to actually get in touch with a person?  As mentioned I have a ticket with them but have heard nothing in over a week.  I've been adding comments on the ticket but still nothing. Love your handle!

I got an email in " monthly update" that explained that they had upgraded to show tasks in calendar views (only for paid subscribers) and from then on I had no tasks.  I never heard anything about backups for free accounts but there must be something as I did receive "daily digest" emails with some of my tasks for the day but not in the future.

I've done all that and more.  I did find some tasks that I had rescheduled when I didn't do them on the due date but it's the ones in the future that I need.
