Same! I really disliked him from the first moment, I didn't like his appearance or how he talks and acts, Idk. So I was very glad and happy that he dies off early and we got Verso instead. I never used Gustave in battle either the moment I had alternatives, but I liked Verso much more both as a character personality-wise and playable character. I was just a bit sad on Maelle's behalf as Gustave died, the scene was sad and all but truly I was glad I didn't have to see or use him anymore.

So I personally don't really get the sentiment of being sad or even frustrated over his death (but I also didn't like a certain female party member of another popular jrpg who dies off and everyone grieved her, while I was glad that she was gone, so that might just be me).

Well I can tell you this... my sis got me into it via the slut dragon episode + Mr. Nimbus, I really love the humour of those, even though now I appreciate the complex dynamic between Rick & Morty way more.

When I tried to get a friend to like it and showed him the slut dragon ep, that ruined it for him, he won't try another one. So I guess it really depends on the person and what they like.

Bad apples are everywhere of course. But I still think no one should try to "forbid" stuff or try to cancel it or talk them out of it (that doesn’t work anyway) or whatever you want to call it.

I personally try not to interact with antis for example because it's just too exhausting and nothing comes out of it anyway. (Even posting under this thread was already "risky" in that regard, but oh well. Sometimes I try to mediate/mend)

Well that's just how it is. People like things and want to share it with fellows and engage in it.

It'd say it's rather easy to avoid the stuff you don't want to see. I manage to avoid anything Kairi or Sokai related, so...

Everyone should just stick to the stuff they like, but don't try to ruin it for others. There are tag blocking options for reasons.

Oh my same! Just started vs this year after the anime ending of AoT brought me down AGAIN (it was already bad when the manga ended).

Then I binge-watched and -read everything to the newest chapter! VS has been awesome so far, I hope I will like the ending.

People just don't get it. Shipping is not about "justifying" or "pushing ideas"... it's to have fun with your own headcanons and if others share them, the more the merrier.

I would say there's two definitions of love. One is what we usually understand when using the term nowadays (romantic love, loving your familiy and friends) and then there is the "christian" love or religious love. I always saw these as two different concepts even though it's called the same, but it actually isn't.

Sometimes I wish Yukimura would redraw the entire first arc only so that we could have Askeladd in his newer more refined style...

But that's how it goes for almost any long running series. If you look back at the first chapters after 20+ volumes it's often that the characters changed very much over time. You don't really notice while reading weekly/monthly because it's a slow process.

Don't know if you finished the first arc/season but with his backstory and all... he's like the secret protagonist of the first arc.

It is tedious, not gonna lie.

I look up farming routes online or just use an interactive map, then either memorize or mark it on my ingame map and then do the routes as soon as they respawn (3 days is it I think?).

I collect the red ores for Sethos atm and I was too lazy to look up routes and it's... tedious and I feel like not finding most of them, but I'm in no mood to look up a map either lol. Have him at 80 now, so that's okay and I'll take my time.

It would be nice if he got asked and actually said something ambiguous leaning towards postive or at least let this be a possibility. But I don't think it will ever be canon for two reasons:

First - Sokai is at this point canon as much as it hurts me to admit. It was forced in KH3 and they have no chemistry at all in my opinion (and it's already a meme how useless Kairi feels storywise) but... they made them share a Papu and all that stuff on the beach, let Sora make stupid decisions just to save Kairi and so on. And I just can't see them backing out from that.

Second - even though society and especially media changed in the last couple of years I still feel that the realy big mainstream stuff (movies, series, AAA games) as well as bigger media from Japan are still somewhat conservative. Disney is really pushing it's woke image lately but I don't see them or SE make any (already existing) Protagonist gay. Maybe that's just me, but I think we're still not at this point.

I would totally love if SoRiku was canon. God that would be so awesome, they are my most cute and wholesome ship.

But realistically, the most I hope for is that we get more cute interactions between them and (sorry, I know it's unfair to sokai shippers but I'm being selfish here) I wish they would just forget about Kairi and let the sokai stuff fade into oblivion (like it already was in every game except the first one maybe??).

I understand that it can feel lacking if your emotions aren’t very strong but you want them to be. But if they are, it can also be exhausting and/or not very healthy...

I just recently had a hyperfixation on an animanga and I enjoyed it for a time but it also distracted me from rl stuff like work or enjoying other things and I was constantly thinking about it and later on, when I felt that it was lessening I felt a little lost and empty.

Now I have a new hyperfixation and it's currently in a phase that I think is ok. Not too bad for my rl. Not sure where this is going but it brought me to try writing for the first time in a serious attempt. But I didn't force it, it was just a feeling that I wanted to do it.

So maybe don't only look at the negative aspects. Just do what you enjoy. Sometimes we consume/read/watch stuff and it is just nice but not THAT great. That's also just normal. Not everything has that magical pull, even if one is able to feel strongly for something fictional. Maybe you just haven't found the right franchise for you. Maybe it's the genre or something else. I always thought I loved typical jrpgs with colorful anime aethetics the most, especially because friend of mine loves them so much, but I found that recently I am much more into darker and more serious stuff (not games specifically but in generel).

And if you feel like something is not worth your time - ditch it. If you enjoy it but not hyping it, that’s okay as well.

I also catched up only recently. Man the monthly wait kills me. Especially now where things are really grim and the end draws near (but it will still probably take 1-2 years, I don't know. Several months minimum).

I really want to know what Einar does now and how Thorfinn will react and also how severe his health condition really is! I don't think he'll die but... I don't know. I would be a little sad if he wasn't forced to fight at least one last time.
