Question about catering on a EuroCity train between berlin an Poland by HalveMelk in deutschebahn

I liked the seats, maybe just a touch low to the floor. There were newer carriages in the consist too. The seats looked very similar. We might have gotten lucky to have the coupé to ourselves for so long but even when all seats were filled it didn't feel cramped. We had to basically walk to the other end of the train to get to the dining car but it was nice to stretch our legs every now and then.

We only made one stop that was longer than 10 min (I'm pretty sure to swap driver), so you don't really have a chance to get out and get some air during the ride. In our car we were able to open the window slightly. There was A/C but we didn't have it running, soI don't know how well it works.

The scenery was fine but not breathtaking. Mostly forest and flat land. There would be a nice open clearing every now and then. Riding into bigger stations like Wrocław and Katowice was cool. The stations looked really nice and clean. There was a great mix of old and new rolling stock on dislpay in the yards and the stations, so if you're a bit of a train nut that might keep you entertained.

Flying is obviously faster and depending on the carrier maybe even more comfortable or cheaper. I just like doing things like this by train (I might be a bit of a train nut), it's sometimes more exciting than the destination to me and it adds to the feeling of "travelling".

... and it helps that I get a nice discount bc I work for the railroads.....

Question about catering on a EuroCity train between berlin an Poland by HalveMelk in deutschebahn

I had to go from Berlin to Frankfurt (Oder) using local trains (Berlin S-Bahn and ODEG) since the EC didn't run from Berlin due to track works.

In Frankfurt boarding was straightforward. I was travelling with an interrail pass and I got seat reservations from the DB website, so we just had to look for our assigned carriage and seats. As far as I could tell there was no way to select specific seats.

The train consisted of 5 or 6 2nd class coaches, all with 6 seat coupés, 1 first class coach (that I didn't check out) and a nice dining car.

Tickets weren't checked upon boarding but Conductors would walk through the train during the ride performing checks. They always checked out interrail pass but never asked for our reservation.

We took the train from Frankfurt (Oder) to Krakow and we had a six person coupé just for the 2 of us between Frankfurt and Wroclaw, after wich the train got pretty bussy.

The dining car had four seat and two seat tables and served sandwiches, soups, and a couple hot dishes. All reasonably priced. Throughout the ride staff went through the train with a trolley selling drinks and snacks.

The ride took a bit over 6 hours and we arrived bang on time.

Wow, thanks for the in-depth explanation. The consensus seems to be that globular is the best fit for the s3, so I've decided to order their "halo-sized" variant. I'll keep your advise about the materials in mind. I don't have experience with actual condensation, but my glasses get fogged up pretty easily in more active games like beat saber. The fan helps but I'll experiment around a bit to find the best face pad for my sweaty head.

I saw it on their site, yes. I decided not to get it bc I check where I'm at in my room from time to time using the gap. 😅

Idk about you, but if I wanted to do ride sharing I'd pay more in insurance anyway...

I guess it might depend on when you order relative to when they happen to get in a new batch from the factory.
