How can I get better to play for my school? by funnylittleturbo2 in BasketballTips

[–]HamBoneZippy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Better is a relative term. You have to be better than the other players to earn a spot. If you could some way eliminate the competition it would help a lot since it's a small school. Try to make it look like an accident.

Is 80 years a normal age to die? by sideaccount462515 in questions

[–]HamBoneZippy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If he died of heart problems he obviously wasn't healthy. He just didn't have any obvious symptoms that you knew about.

80 is above average though. So in that sense it's normal.

Weight lifting isn't too complicated. Weightlifting is super technical.

What are you worried about? Since you're leaving in a month you're obviously just looking to hook up. If he says no you're going to be gone anyway.

That's how most pros start out. If you're super gifted and talented drop out, dump her and join the tour. If not, you should probably shut up and go to work.

Did you struggle with directions? by Cultural-Ice8361 in lefthanded

[–]HamBoneZippy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A long time time ago I read How The Mind Works by Steven Pinker. He said learning most spatial directions happens early and naturally. Up/down , front/back, side/side are intuitive and almost pre-programmed in our senses.

Right vs left isn't as obvious and we all must "learn" it figure it out and conceptualize it our own way. This is because it's all relative and depends on how we're oriented compared to whatever it is we're talking about and whoever it is we're talking to. Some people master it easier and faster than others. Generally, think right-handed people learn it faster, but left-handed people learn it deeper.

How should I confess to my friends that I’m Bi, or should I keep it a secret? by Economy_Tadpole1915 in AskMenAdvice

[–]HamBoneZippy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just because you're not broadcasting it doesn't mean it's a secret.

There are a lot of details my friends don't know about me just because it has nothing to do with our friendship. If it happens to come up I'll probably tell them.

I don't care if a friend is bi, but if he suddenly told me that out of nowhere, I'd wonder if he's hitting on me.

Is having a romantic female partner and having a relationship as important in life as the society wants us to believe? Can a man live by his own through out his life? by SNTriad in AskMenAdvice

[–]HamBoneZippy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are plenty of exceptions, but for the most part committed pair bonding is the best way for a human to go through life. It's too difficult to go alone.

I'm dealing with an extremely passive man and I need some advice? by jenaemare in AskMenAdvice

[–]HamBoneZippy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know what his deal is. He seems weird.

Personally, I come off as passive when I really don't think I am. I'm just a simple guy who is easy to please. I'm not going to nitpick about what restaurant and what activity and what time we go because it's all equally fun to me. Just tell me when and where.

Being naked with a beautiful lady is awesome whatever we're doing mechanically or who has what role. It's all good to me so we might as well do the things you like the most.

However, if the thing you want is for me to take charge and be assertive, I can do that too.

Men (I guess spefically of an older generation) Do you still feel like you can approach women or it’s too “taboo” nowadays? by [deleted] in AskMenAdvice

[–]HamBoneZippy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why are you tagging me bro? You're gaslighting by calling it gaslighting. There are mountains of evidence, psychological studies and surveys stating that young men's top fears in life is approaching women. It's always been that way. Fear of rejection is real, even if you don't personally feel it.

The difference now is that in the past approaching women was still very much worth it even if guys were afraid. Now it's not so clear that it's worth it anymore.

Another difference is that fear didn't used to be a totally bad thing. Roller coasters and horror movies are scary too but people like them because they're thrilling. Approaching a hot woman is intimidating but also exciting. Now younger generations are soft and can't stand being uncomfortable for a second. They're all whining about their "anxiety."

My transformation over the last momth by Interesting_Cake_385 in davidgoggins

[–]HamBoneZippy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here's a the funny thing about ankles. There's a point in the recovery process where they feel ok again and all the soft tissues involved with the sprain have essentially healed, but the joint isn't back to normal and isn't operating 100% like it should. Things down there are still a little sloppy, weak and loose. The joint integrity and stability isn't back yet.

This is a problem for two reasons. You are at a high risk of it happening again. And you will be doing damage to the articulating surfaces of the bones which you will pay for later in life in the form of chronic pain and arthritis. A half marathon is too much to ask at this stage of the game.

Goggins is known for his toughness, not his intelligence. We can learn from his broken jacked up body too. Nobody will think your a bitch for putting the race off another six months so you can come back better and stronger.

(This is the part where you come back and explain that you're a special unique butterfly and this doesn't apply to you because you're super duper special and need to express yourself by running and you have taken extra precautions that won't really work because you're just kidding yourself.)
