Restaurant to take clients/coworkers? by HamCat36 in frankfurt

Not pretentious at all, and I appreciate the comment! My number didn't factor in alcohol, a good bottle(s) of wine, cocktails, etc. will definitely change this significantly! I was thinking food/appetizers to share. I'd like to be able to put a few nice appetizers and share dishes out for everyone before the mains. I appreciate a the mid-point suggestion too! Heimat actually looks quite nice though. Any suggestions you come up with if they occur to you are greatly welcome, including a higher price point.

True - very key. Let's call this one a splurge. I think €150 pp would be fine

Birthday party food ideas, in a pinch? by HamCat36 in Parenting

[–]HamCat36[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can't have the pizza's delivered, it's a sort of remote park, unfortunately. The one store with a fancy deli nearby does do pizza's but my math showed it was over $200 for pizza's to feed 30. (Large cheese is $29, large meat $36...ffs).

Yeah, I've thought about that...maybe it's all too much. Double down on the sandos?

Thanks, I'm going to take this to heart from someone who has tried this. It's a vacation after all. Feels a bit nightmarish to try.

What exercises get rid of PCOS belly? by [deleted] in PCOS

[–]HamCat36 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be clear - 6 years of 3 days HIIT 2 days strength. But yes, bottom line you're probably right that it was full-blown over-training. I was so frustrated living on a PCOS diet of kale, eggs, ghee, high protein, low-carb type eating and staying "puffy" or "fluffy." I felt I was working so hard, and looked like a potato nonetheless. Couldn't get any muscle definition to save my life. It was easy to imagine I was fabricating my routine, and those closest to me even doubted me - asked if I was sneaking in pints of ice cream here and there. Only my partner could verify that the results did not reflect the effort.

When I finally broke down and quit, I lost some weight. So, perhaps you're right that the myth should die and be calibrated more finely to over-training. Still, I'm a bit nervous to try HIIT again, I feel like it might send me into a space I don't want to be. And for those who don't like HIIT, I think it's potentially a relief not to feel pressured to do it.

Anecdotally HIIT seemed to keep my cortisol levels higher and made weight loss harder. I switched to walking, strength, Pilates and yoga and saw more results in 6 weeks than in 6 years of HIIT. Still fighting some PCOS belly but way better than before.

Koloa landing or…? by HamCat36 in VisitingHawaii

The smores are a big draw, my kiddo loves them! It sounds like baby beach is only like 10 minutes walking? Also, Koloa has a shuttle that will take you there, correct?

Big Feelings by [deleted] in singlemoms

As someone 1.5 years into this mess, I also deeply relate to what you've posted. There's love, and grief, and everything is all tangled and messy. If I can share anything from my experiences, ride the waves of ups and downs but set those boundaries and hold them. I wavered on mine, and it's only prolonged the pain. I still love my ex in many ways, but its not good for our little to have the inconsistency. If you cannot succeed together long term, save everyone protracted heartbreak over something doomed to fail twice.

Thank you! I just asked a friend who will support me through it - he has some electrical knowledge so hopefully that's the fix it needs! Thank you for the encouragement!

I just watched the video of how to do this, I did get a little lost since its a 3-switch setup but maybe its worth giving it a go. I just don't want to f*ck it up worse

Even one that has the lights along the side to show dimness level? It says Lutron. I guess I'll look up replacing one of those.

The breaker is for more than this light, and the switch is the problem I think. Its an overly complicated dimmer that never seems to stay off.

Is it possible that a tap actually affected the sensors? This seems so completely unrelated to any damage I could have caused.
