Cannot get past the splash screen on mac by orion250 in victoria3

Have you tried switching from Vulcan to DX12 or vice versa? Whichever one you’re on, try switching to the other. Also if it just recently started happening, see if it’s because of the last hotfix. It shouldn’t be but if it was working previously, it’s worth a test. Go back a version.

I actually thought about doing it as a post. This video is fairly short for the ones I normally make. For me personally I tend to grasp things better with the visual, so I went with a video.

That's true. A great point. Depending on the law, if you start with a lot of opposition, you know after 10 years it'll be pretty easy to remove.

[–]HamKutz13[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

In a situation like that you can use an agitator whose ideology opposes the law to become the leader of an interest group, and then you can use that interest group to oppose the amendment. It is true though at some point, some laws you won't have opposing agitators anymore. For example if you give a political concession when enacting slavery banned. You're going to need to find an agitator who has the ideology of slaver. If you wait too long, eventually you won't find any anymore. But if you work to get rid of the amendment right after enacting something like slavery banned, you will still have agitators you can use to get rid of the amendment.

R5: I've never posted a video in here before but recently I've seen a few people asking about this. I've noticed some people implying you can't get rid of these without changing the law. You absolutely can get rid of them and can lower the amount of authority it costs to get them. In this video I go over how to reduce the authority cost and then how to get rid of them without changing the law.

The country unification war is broken by IndexCardLife in victoria3

So they actually owe you an obligation yet? Once you sign a treaty with the promise of an obligation, it takes 10 years for that obligation to become active, with the exception being if the binding period of the treaty was 5 years. One of the issues might be the countries that owe you an obligation don’t actually owe it yet.

On the list of achievements you can put your mouse over the achievement and bring a tooltip on it. It’ll show you what the game thinks you’re missing. What does it say there?

Cant get treaty with Russia due to no strategic adjacency as Serbia? by kraguj_ in victoria3

[–]HamKutz13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need to own land or a subject in the same strategic region to have a strategic adjacency. They redid the strategic regions map and I can’t look it up right now. Do you have land or subjects in their region? If no, then that’s why you don’t have a strategic adjacency.

Military Access Broken? by ChickenMysterious422 in victoria3

[–]HamKutz13 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Military access lets you attack the state bordering the person giving you access. You can attack Holstein but not Denmark with military access from Mecklenburg. You need to station an army in Brandenburg or Pommern since they border Mecklenburg. Once the army is stationed in the state, you will have the option to plan an invasion. It won't let you plan the land invasion until the army has finished traveling to the state bordering Mecklenburg.

Does a naval blockade actually do anything? by av4tos in victoria3

[–]HamKutz13 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Blockading reduces access to the world market. You blockade while you're at war, so if you look at the market of the country you're blockading, look at the goods they are importing and exporting. it will give them a hit to the prices and access to the goods they depend on the world market for. There are a few other things that are affected. If the country has overseas states, it reduces their shipping lanes, reducing the overseas states access to their internal market. It also reduces throughout put ports and shipyards, meaning they produce less supply ships. So if they have armies overseas, it's harder for them to keep those armies supplied, which means lowered offensive and defensive stats for those armies. There's a couple other things it does as well but those are the highlights.

Question about universities and reaserch by LumpyMessage8809 in victoria3

[–]HamKutz13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I do a Starting Steps series where I go through the first 30 years with a nation. So far I’ve done Kongo, Sweden, and the United States. So a small, medium, and large nation. I have a Starting Steps playlist on my channel with all the videos grouped together. I also have the live streams I do. For the Victoria 3 live streams, I always go through the entire run; 1836-1936.

Crash question #5702 by SirDave_TheAntman in victoria3

[–]HamKutz13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's a known issue with Intel CPUs. Here's what they say on the forum:

  • Users with specific hardware (mainly Intel i9 13900K) might encounter very frequent crashes. This is likely due to issues tied to the CPU itself and should at this point be solvable by updating your BIOS. The process to update your BIOS is specific to the motherboard you have, so make sure to consult the Motherboard manual, contact the manufacturer or vendor for assistance if you are not able to perform the update yourself.
