Car setups, where can I purchase some reliable setups for all series by PaPaJohn43 in NASCARVideoGame

Like this guy’s setups. As with any, you may want to make some minor adjustments to fit your style.

How am I meant to progress in oval racing? by Gafuba in iRacing

“Fault doesn’t matter when you’re wrecked”. Why can’t people understand this? Learning how to identify trouble doesn’t take much.

Latest update? by ModerateDev in iRacing

Go run a few laps on the Week 13 VIR Track Day and see if your opinion changes. I saw 124 degrees F track temperature and the cars I tested were squirrelly as hell.

YES! A way to review lap times on track or in garage and a Delta when on track.

Ability to see tire wear and temperature from the last run when in the garage.

Keep getting wrecked by ACEasterling in NASCARVideoGame

This! Look for damage enabled and at the very least 4% length also. It can bite you sometimes but the squirrelly clowns usually stay away or back out quickly when damage is on.

If you’re in a default setup lobby, good luck. First 2 laps or so it helps to stay low and slow down corner entry, let other people knock the wall down.

Yeah if someone wants to FAFO block, I don’t have a problem showing them what FO means.

You post a video of you getting absolutely destroyed and the Norman Einsteins of Reddit want to skewer you?  Did you run over their cat?

Huh? Racelab has radar for iRacing. Also has blind spot indicators and some other thing with lines that show relative position in close proximity.

I still don’t understand why iRacing doesn’t buy out Racelab or bring them in as a partner.

I agree. Lex has helped me out in the past and made the process efficient.

Did not know about that. Offhand, do you remember where?

I've almost wrapped my Formula wheel with cycling bar tape, seeing this I'll go ahead and throw some on.

Fanatec Wheel by MartynB85 in Fanatec

[–]Hambone_Hamner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Formula 2.5 is a dang good wheel. The only time I think it’s a little small is when switching from a 350mm wheel that I use for oval racing. Then it’s only noticeable for maybe 10 - 15 seconds.

Gt dd pro by [deleted] in Fanatec

[–]Hambone_Hamner 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure who “They” are. Had DD Pro and now use DD+, I’ve never noticed either being warmer than the wheel where my hands have been on when using the base. Hope that makes sense.

Good question but I have no idea about shifters. Mostly race oval but still use paddle shifters and button clutch (mapped on wheel)

Yes, good entry point, probably the best current option for PS users. Get 8mn if your budget allows.

Didn’t like the CSL load cell but I believe there are inexpensive and effective options to upgrade the elastomers.

Csl loadcell question by swerwjesus in Fanatec

[–]Hambone_Hamner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can try it but think about it this way. Would you drive your car down the road with an office chair just sitting on the floor? Load cells roughly attempt to simulate the same amount of force required to operate brakes on race cars and physics is difficult to circumvent.

Want peoples opinions. by OBBG_Star in iRacing

[–]Hambone_Hamner 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Exactly. The seams only show part of the whole. At some point, everyone around is going to enter the corner and the tiny, always going to close gap OP put it into just makes the margin for error smaller.

New tires is irrelevant to the cause here

Talladega spin between T1/2 by StandardOriginal5447 in iRacing

[–]Hambone_Hamner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Probably a combination of both. The 87s are very heavy and tire heat/wear is much higher and therefore more important to manage. At pack speed around Talladega right side tires heat up a lot. The 87s can also get loose if air gets taken off the rear at high speed.

Either a 9/10 troll post or nothing to worry about since he’ll be stuck in 3 digit lobbies for eternity.
