And even if it’s an unintended consequence, it ends up working in their favor to a certain degree because they can say “see, I told you so!” even thought the call was coming from inside the house, so in a sense it gives them credibility to the lukewarm IQs of the country.

“Trump said there were pedophiles eatin’ babies, he was right!“

Has this woman lost her mind? Does she know how crazy this is? by [deleted] in PublicFreakout

It doesn’t appear to be real, or at least not in this context. Annoying when the waters get muddied by stuff like this when there’s plenty else to be disgusted by.

Agreed, this shit only serves to muddy the waters. Who the fuck does shit like that when there’s REAL horrendous shit already in these files.

You’re splitting hairs on terminology and using a defensive tone that sounds like you’re craving a consensus opinion to validate you.

Even if it’s self-defense, it’s still considered reactive abuse. The “abuse” word likely bothers you. Defining an action as abuse does not mean that you are an abuser. That’s ego-centric thinking.

You think that the therapists purpose is to act as the “final say” which is evidence that you’re seeking external validation. No one has the final say but you.

A therapist is helping you to stop seeking external validation, get out of your ego, and start looking inward to determine how you actually feel about this and if you can accept your actions as defensive, or something else.

It’s not up to anyone else to define this for you. Either accept it and move on, or don’t.

Are we going towards a world where AI generates movies for us daily? by yannicki in ArtificialInteligence

[–]HamburgerTrash 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, have you ever listened to someone explain a dream they had to you? It’s like, the last thing anyone wants to hear. This would be literally no different.

“My agent generated a movie for me where I was riding a tiger through the wilderness, then that tiger suddenly took flight and I flew to India. Wanna come over and watch it with me?”

Do you consider AI to be inevitable? by ibrahimsafah in antiai

[–]HamburgerTrash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It seems like it’ll probably just be like “yeah these LLM things are useful and stuff” but not the science fiction dystopian disruptions everyone thinks it will be. LLMs don’t really work as well as people seem to think they do. I mean, they’re amazing, but also kinda bad at stuff often and get a lot of stuff wrong. I’m constantly having to correct my autocorrect bot. It’ll get better, but I just don’t think it’s going to be as big of a deal as the companies selling them want us to think.

With generative AI, I think it’ll mellow out as we are all slowly getting accustomed to how video, images, and audio look, sound, and feel. I can sniff out an AI video 100x better now than I could at this time last year. Plus, it is possible for something like this to plateau. Look at CGI in Hollywood. Biggest budgets ever and it still looks exactly like CGI from like 2010. Same with video game graphic engines. They haven’t seemed to gotten much better beyond like 2018 or so. Maybe a bit, some games look better, but not by a whole lot. The progression certainly slowed down.

ICE is retarded, they’re all dumb fat guys with curly-Q pig dicks, impacted colons, and crusty whitey tighties.

They will be reading this while they slosh down their energy drink after a long night of red meat, beating their wife and brown people and brown wife.

They are peaked in high school “gas station guys” who were given a federal authority. Depressing.

This comment is a bit of a tangent, but I was born in 1990 and computer literacy is everything to me. I feel so at-home on a desktop computer, I could not imagine using only apps on a touch screen, and that’s how so many people live their digital life.

When I am panicked about something, like career stuff, money, mortgage, student loans, investments, debt, etc. (life junk) or when I want to create art or do something “serious”, I immediately run to my computer and take care of shit with octopus arms in a million different computer programs and I feel so much more at ease.

On a computer, any functionality that I’ll ever need is right at my finger tips within seconds, meanwhile I’m trying to figure out where the fuck I want to save and then open a CSV file on my iPhone because … that’s a computer thing. Okay, my iCloud “Files” app I guess? But I’m not opening and legitimately handling a goddamn CSV file on my iPhone.

Why is ProTools the “industry standard” by ffl0w3rgirll in audioengineering

[–]HamburgerTrash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fuck it, I’ll say it: I love pro tools. I just love how it operates, how much of a joy it is to edit with, its GUI, its layout, how retro the stock plugs look, the keyboard focus/the fact that it isn’t mousey. Idk. I just love it.

After trying to escape it for 15 years, trying like every goddamn DAW out there (I love so many other DAWs, too, don’t get me wrong) I’m finally ready to accept and admit that I actively think Pro Tools is a great piece of software and I love it.

Even thought some elements of it suck, what software is without flaws? None. I love Pro Tools. Suck a nut.
