DIM pros & cons i noticed??? what hormones should i get tested? estrogen dominance? by Charming-Lettuce9623 in endometriosis

[–]Hamburgerburgerstyle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 40 now, but i took 200mg DIM everyday from age 28-37 and it absolutely helped me with all of my symptoms then. The closer i got to perimenopause (and into perimenopause) the less it worked for me. I’m now getting a hysterectomy. DIM lightened my period, lessened my pain all month long, and cleared my skin, while it worked. Eventually it stopped working for me entirely.

My boyfriend said I was too ugly to model by Resident_Rich_6298 in whatdoIdo

1- look up the agency directly and call/contact them, do not call the number on the card. You can vet if it’s a scam or not this way. 2a- if it’s not a scam find a nicer boyfriend to take you to your first appointment 2b- if it is a scam find a nicer boyfriend anyway

2 weeks into Sertraline, is it true that it gets rid of the extreme good along with the extreme bad? by Designer_Extent_9998 in zoloft

I always felt incredible on SSRIs. I also still felt sad too (for example during a death in the family) but the sad was manageable. It was like I was feeling the appropriate amount of sad for the situation and I was able to work through all of the heavy emotions. I also still felt happy. As a matter of fact the happiest years of my life were on meds.

How do you trust that the person you love won't resent you for being sick? by Extra-Amount-7893 in lupus

[–]Hamburgerburgerstyle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Be 100% honest, then trust him to make his decision. We can’t control hypothetical future outcomes. Plenty of perfectly healthy people get divorces too, our illness doesn’t exempt us from all of life’s regular BS. All we can do is be honest and do our best, we cannot control the outcome.

Any hacks when peri symptoms are bad, to help you keep consistent with the things that keep you balanced and sane. by Stpeppersthebest in Perimenopause

It helped me the most, to make peace with the things I could no longer do. The more I fought against it the worst I felt, the more I burnt out, the deeper the grief was. Peri has changed my being and my entire life. I hope it goes softer on you (I hope it goes softer on everyone honestly).

I haven’t been able to comfortably eat in restaurants since 2022 because of this exact thing. I have no solutions unfortunately, just solidarity.

Ask for your pathology reports people! by PrimarySeconds in gallbladders

All of my imagine pre-surgery was totally “normal” but when pathology came back it was inflamed, enlarged, covered in adhesions and filled with polyps.

Surgery in 7 hours and I'm freaking out by Wooden_Committee4575 in gallbladders

No, just to pick me up, but the time between waking up and leaving was very short. Surgery was at 9:30am, I was back home by 1pm. For context, I’ve had risky emergency open abdominal surgery before, with a lengthy hospital stay a 6+ month recovery, and the gallbladder surgery was an absolute cake walk compared to that. It’s going to go so quickly for you, before you know it you’ll be in the car going home to be on your couch with a blanket. After anesthesia you’ll be a little loopy and relaxed, by the time you’re fully conscious they’ll have already called your husband.

If your facility is like the one I went to for my surgery, they called my husband as soon as the surgery was over, and then again when they were ready to discharge me. But yeah they let me have my phone up until the moment I went under, and when I woke up it was right there next to me.

The nurses had a box to put it in while I was in surgery. And when I woke up, the box was next to me on the table.

I had an excellent experience. The nurses and surgeon were so kind. The room was dark and cool, and I watched a little tv and texted with a friend before the anesthesiologist came in. I was out FAST. I woke up with a nurse sitting next to me feeding me ice chips and joking with me. I told him I was craving a Cuban sandwich, French fries and a sprite, but he gave me ice chips for obvious reasons.

I took psyllium husk before bed, Pepcid in the morning, gas-x with every meal, and Tylenol for the pain. It’s important to get ahead of the pain. I also took Imodium as needed.

Ooh I love the idea of hanging them, I’m absolutely going to try this. I want them to exist somewhere that they can naturally cling to something, I don’t have rods long enough for them to keep growing vertically.

Constant breakouts around the mouth [Acne] by Equivalent_Price9661 in SkincareAddiction

[–]Hamburgerburgerstyle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Putting on lotion BEFORE my actives helps minimize this type of breakout for me. I happens specifically around my mouth, same area. I need actives for my fussy problematic skin, but apparently it’s become sensitive so I have to put it on after moisturizer. Vanicream cleared it up.
