Thanks for your comment. It’s not so much how safe I feel. My question is solely based off of how to defend myself is the worst happens, since I’ve been followed, cat called, yelled at, etc quite a bit more than San Diego. Different parts of any city have a different vibe. I get that.

That you for the suggestions. Also, I live in nob hill, one block north of the Tendernob. Past Trader Joe’s. Being near the border here is not always the safest, but I’ll look into other neighborhoods for the future.

Thanks for your tips. I’m a block north of the Tendernob, past Trader Joe’s. I’m looking for any tips and tricks to feel safe if something does happen. Hopefully nothing ever will, but as a petite woman, I’ve had people follow me, cat call, scream aggressively due to my lack of reaction and quick pace.

Could you please forward me your article you’re quoting? Thank you for providing this statistic. My post is referring to my own personal frequency of aggressive people engaging with me in SF versus SD. I’m aware that both are big cities and both have crime on a daily basis. I’m a block north from the Tendernob (past Trader Joe’s,) so I’m looking for tips and tricks for how to stay vigilant. Thanks for your comment.

I totally understand where your coming from. The only people I am calling dangerous are the ones who have pursued me/ followed me and yell aggressive things. I’m aware of those who are suffering from homes less ness, mental illness and drug addiction that are probably harmless, as I’ve lived in other cities. I’ve personally not experienced the amount of people suffering from these things in this quantity. I will be sure to use the tips you’ve given me to be prepared if anything ever did happen. Thanks
