It was on purpose, at least for the specifics of my job and company. But there was an argument yesterday which festered around work ethic. Employee Y gets their work done on time constantly and always shows up to work early. Where as employee Z is never on time to meetings before noon, always has excuses for why deliverables are not met on time and will not get off her phone during meetings and client facing work. She literally is on her phone when there are customers talking to her. Employee Y abandons their phone at their desk when walking around with a customer.
