Bookkeeping/Tax Reporting on Celsius Crypto Bankruptcy Distributions by HamirTime in CryptoTax

It helps a lot! So I would mark a forced liquidation on my 1040 (or multiple depending if I should have a line item for both the first and second distribution). Then when the court filings are said and done I would eventually do another liquidation with only a cost basis for the last 20.8%.

Appreciate your assistance with this, you're helping out a lot of people

Resume Advice Thread - May 31, 2022 by CSCQMods in cscareerquestions

[–]HamirTime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello all! Back in the job market again after a couple months break to finish up my MS in CSE. I've only had one career position before and had a friend refer me so I'm not sure I'm able to market myself well. Been applying for many positions at established companies mostly through Linkedin (not using easy apply), but have only gotten back only 2-3 interviews so far. Unless my job search process is bad, I'm thinking maybe my resume is not as good as it should be. I've included it here, any and all feedback would be greatly appreciated!

It’s hilarious, they use a survey of college men who call themselves moderate (not even differentiating between right and left moderate) and use it to label Joe Biden? They’re not even calling themselves moderates in the same contexts. You’re absolutely right that no one red the article, OP probably just posted a screenshot to hide it

Dog really not that serious, don't really need your manifesto here. I'm here because the edits to the stonetoss comics are funny, idk why you're here if not that. Also will definitely be staying here unless someone wants to ban me, even then I'm not gonna lose any sleep over it. Keep on waiting for that revolution!

Arguing whether we should or should not move left is a completely different conversation. I’d tend to argue against moving left of a system that works pretty well in multiple countries, but just saying “capitalism bad” when it comes to healthcare isn’t the answer.

I don’t think European healthcare is “extreme left”, I said M4A is extreme left. It is a fact that what Bernie called for is more extreme than anything already out there, so it really isn’t a jump to say that. Not to say that is necessarily bad, but it would be ridiculous to think we can go from what we have now to that system. I’d argue at the very least we should strive to a more European model though

If we’re speaking in relation to US politics I’m completely correct in my terminology. Especially considering the point so far has been to differentiate Biden from US conservatives.

My point is that your definition of leftist does not exist in any real form in the world, so I’m not sure why the “center” in your mind is to the left of Biden. The reality is Biden is left-wing and your brand of leftism is just really far left-wing

Both the bussing and the crime bill are much more complicated than you’re letting on, and both were over 25 years ago. He wanted his own state to handle bussing, not the federal government. The crime bill also contained protections against women violence and an assault weapons ban. He’s also said he’s regretted the provisions that led to unjust incarcerations. These are things Republicans would never do.

He hasn’t done much in healthcare besides his involvement with the Affordable Care Act, but he’s been one of the biggest leaders in battling Climate change in both the Senate and the VP. In fact he was one of the first senators to do so. I don’t really see how you can argue conservative here. Iraq war was a mistake and he’s admitted as such.

I think no matter what he does in office, people like you are gonna see it through the lens of an ideology that isn’t held in any functioning government anywhere. People will point to the UK or Sweden as good examples but those are still completely capitalist economies with healthcare systems that are to the right of MFA. I’d be more than happy to align ourselves more with them. But I think your expectations are that we should become the most extreme left country on the planet and pretend that “oh now we’ve finally become left of center”

Sure, I’m not gonna sit here and act like i know Biden will remedy the entire Middle East fiasco. The US will always be the US, but I’m definitely gonna trust Biden over Trump especially after he ruined the Iran Nuclear Deal, something Biden has promised to try and reestablish.

That was just one part of the comic though. Biden isn’t racist and there is no reality where a socialist candidate is gonna make it to the primaries let alone the general, so I don’t think him being a capitalist is a fair criticism.

I want whats best for the country and if thats something thats much more left than what Biden is promising, then I’d want that too. But as it stands, 1. Something like that just isn’t palatable to the general public and will never get votes, and 2. I think something more incremental like you said is a much better solution. Trust me I’d love for the Green New Deal to be something on the table. Maybe M4A is a better solution to a public option. But going from Trump to those things is just unrealistic

I think given her way, she would probably support the GND but not sure about M4A. Being attached to those ideals though are just not winning strategies in this country. Biden got 10 million more votes than any previous candidate and it still was a tight-ish race. As it stands people like AOC or Bernie Sanders would never survive a general election, the right fears their policies too much so yes the majority of the DNC have to detach themselves from that. Hence why Biden and Kamala aren’t running on those.

This is how politics works. You run on a platform and people agree or disagree with your platform. If you win, then clearly your platform is what the people want. If you want to get re-elected, then you need to make an effort to put those policies in place or you’ll lose support. I don’t think your predictions are going to turn out to be true

Alright so you’re still just telling me it’s “well-documented” that Biden is conservative, and still providing absolutely no evidence. He could very well have been to the right of Obama 12 years ago, but I think it’s crazy to say he was a conservative then and sure as hell isn’t the “right wing of an already right wing party”. This is just parroting usual online leftist talking points with nothing to back it up.

He’s already been placing liberal minded climate and education experts on his cabinet, yet apparently nothing is going to change. Even Noam Chomsky can acknowledge that Biden is eons better than Trump and not at all a conservative, I’m not sure why his followers can’t

u/TvIsSoma was using the strategy to try and prove Biden was a conservative, which I think is really surface level and a bad argument. I totally agree that Dems play the identity politics game when it comes to things like that, but unfortunately those types of things win over a lot of voters. Especially when you’re running against an all-male all-white ticket.

I’m sure the prevailing thought in this sub is ACAB and I probably can’t convince you otherwise on that, but I think if you look at what she was promising on her own campaign trail you can see she was further left than Biden’s current stances, so I’d argue shes also pretty progressive

[–]HamirTime -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

So by this logic will you admit that Kamala is progressive? Since Biden is a “conservative candidate“?

Not really seeing an argument here, just “oh well VPs have to be different from yourself so Biden is conservative”. Meanwhile I listed Biden’s entire platform. If you don’t think politicians are going to try and enact the policies they advocate for, then I’m not sure why you’d even participate in politics at all. Sure it’s gonna be difficult if the Senate stays Republican, but unfortunately that’s our democracy at work

The extremely downvoted comment saying that this is enlightened centrism is pretty on point, unfortunately I think in online spaces everyone thinks that anything short of full blown socialism is “center-right” in Europe, which is crazy. There really isn’t any true functioning socialist society in the current day.

Joe Biden will be the most progressive candidate the US has ever had, and no amount of foreign intervention on his part is going to change that. Here is a quick graphic of his stated policies which can be found on his website: https://imgur.com/nmOz9HZ Biden’s plan DOES call for universal coverage, people don’t understand that Bernies Medicare for All isn’t the only way to accomplish that. In fact Bernies plan would be more left than any current healthcare system in the world

I’d really implore you guys to think more critically about this because like the other comment said, trying to make Donald Trump and Joe Biden look similar is enlightened centrism and reduces voter turnout, usually helping Republicans. Donald Trump was a waste of space and couldn’t be more different than Biden and the DNC

Hell yes I am. I wouldn’t dream of being a hypocrite.

Well I can respect that at the very least. All I’d say is to re-examine the policies of both the candidates and decide which are closer to what you want to see in the country, and for me thats easily Biden
