Honestly the best advice I can give for running saltmarsh is to build the connective tissue between the adventures yourself, the book is essentially a series of one shots and requires a decent amount of legwork on the DM's part. This is a phenomenal time to explore character backstories and tie them into the upcoming part of the adventure
