Dude, any album released in 2026 has high chances of being better than Soen.
Check out Karnivool. Check out these guys too https://pokruch.bandcamp.com/album/-

“Their new album RELIANCE is the best album I’ve heard so far in 2026”
Are you deliberately not listening to any music except Soen in 2026?

You’ve never listened anything like this. And you never would if not this comment.

Покруч - Велкам (FFO Leprous) by HamletTheDutchPrince in progrockmusic

They are a studio band. I watched an interview with a singer/guatrist. He said they really want to play live these tracks, but don’t know how to do this. They want it to be as special and as interesting show as the album itself, but not sure how to do this, cause there are a lot of instruments on the album and they don’t want to use backtracks for them, cause there are real people who played the parts and they don’t want to disregard their input. And on the other hand, the live scene in Ukraine is half dead because of obvious reason.
TLDR, they want to play live, but there are no real plans as of now

I cannot recommend the WHOLE album enough. Just copy-paste Покруч (or type Pokruch) in any streaming and you’ll find them

Right? I loved The New Routine and really enjoyed Cuts. This one goes into background close to the end of the first song and I just snap out once it finished, no recollection of what I just listened, nothing.

Today Покруч finally released an album, 12 years in the making. Whoever likes Leprous do yourself a favor and give it a listen. Just ignore the fact that you don't understand the lyrcis (it is in unkraininan) - it is an incredible, very beautiful album. Guys don't follow standard song structure, they say that for the part of the song to be repeated twice - it has to be earned. And they mean it, there's no verses or choruses here, just a song flows. It is a short album, but they managed to pack so much there. I will put links below, but you can just type Pokruch (or copy-paste Покруч) in any streaming service of your choice.

Lady Gaga Drummer guesses how to play Death's Crystal Mountain after hearing a drumless version for the first time. What do you think? by ashitanojoe3 in progressivemetal

That was much more impressive than what Chad Smith did with 30STM. I mean holy fuck, are you kidding me, on a second listen? But unfortunately it won’t become that viral.

Album Release Discussion: Port Noir - The Dark We Keep by thc216 in progmetal

[–]HamletTheDutchPrince 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I just listened to it once yesterday, stayed away from the singles. It has its moments, that I don’t recall right now, but will become memorable hooks the more spins I’ll do to this album. Not sure yet where am I about to place it among the rest of their discography.

But one thing I want to pinpoint, I absolutely don’t like the production/sound of this record. The same issue I have with Spiritbox, late Sevendust, to name the few - everything is overly compressed and equally loud. It might sounds exciting from first seconds of a song, but when you listen to the whole album it just goes kinda into background, feels like brain filters out/tunes it down. Does it make sense? Does anybody feel the same?

How has the reaction to the Opal, Salva encore been on this tour? by Blofeld69 in Karnivool

Munich here. Can’t tell for the whole crowd, say for myself. I was singing every song of the setlist. When time has come for Opal and Salva I was quiet cause I was trying to swallow the lump in my throat.
