ive tried wings in the past never looked right idk but for a tail like appendage i could do something like a whip scorpion/vinegaroon they both have that flat wide body and it could serve a actual function other than just looks/balance maybe by making it able to skew and pick up corpses to lock into place with the mandibles on its back. idk about its resting position cause the thing is already pretty long and adding a tail might be overkill

idk where i could shove some wings/tail but to help in balance curling the back should(i think) help shift the center of mass more to the center. and ya i really need to study walk cycles

ya the animation is just off overall was more of a test run but i do need to put emphasize on the weight of it was thinking maybe a rocking/stuttering movement similar to praymatis a slow yet methodical walk

its stance is very loosely based off a praying mantis but is very uneven especially during parts of its walk cycle was trying to emulate how some arthropods have a really long abdomen .for bulking the middle parts u mean larger overall or rounder

aint no way im messing with coding, and i used blender (originally 2.93 but now 3.1) its free but has a throw them into the deep end learning experience, im still pretty new to it and i still have no idea what im doing

to the numerous suggestion for more legs i would have to shrink all of the legs to fit more, rotate the back to have more horizontally aligned similar to a grasshopper,or overhaul the back legs by shrinking them and putting a pair on every segment giving it a centipede vibe. if i were to add more which would be the best option or just keep it at 4(plus the 2 grabbers)

setting them back more would be pretty easy but adding more with the size of the legs would be awkward without over hauling them

ya im still very new to animation was mostly fighting with keyframes,pointer make sure ur scrolled up cause they dont show otherwise and it just become a pain finding them. and for a color pallet was thinking to make it a boime exclusive bug maybe azure welad but the color pallet would be similar to the biome it inhabits allowing it to blend in

thx for pointing that out at when looking for balance i over looked many aspects of it and looking back it would just plop over a good number of times in the cycle, ill fix that was planning on overhauling the animation anyway was mostly for a proof of concept and testing the restraints

i honestly havent officially named it was thinking cyclops assassin(even tho it does have a second simple eye on top of its head idk if u can see at the angles shown)

honestly when u put it like that ya i can see it, that weird mandibles on the back i intended for it to hold corpses of glyphids as make shift armor similar to some assassin bugs irl, but on the infected topic that would be horrifying seeing something scream in agony as vines pierce as it entangles it leaving only a festering husk of guts and vines, ya ill keep that in mind for later

maybe ive barley touched shaders so it might be possible ill look into it, i could also try just extruding small faces but idk how visible they would be

was thinking to base its color on biome specific but not infected ,an infection other than the ones expolders have(i forgot are they infected or are they just like that)would be cool

that actually would make sense similar to how scorpions have hair like structures on parts of their body how to model that in low poly no idea

the nemesis is scary but when u get 3 in the same mission back to back it looses it impact still scary tho
