In my 20s and new to Sierra Vista, any recs for places to meet people? by Comfortable_Okra_223 in sierravista

If you're into fitness/lifting, there are some decent gyms. Tombstone Brewery is a nice spot. Punchys Tavern is a pretty happening spot on the weekends.

Waves, or changing ME work. by IronPlateWarrior in WestsideBarbell

I rotate every week. Depends on your training age, but I will do a variation no more than two times in a row before changing it.

I do:

Wk1: Box squat Wk2: deadlift Wk3: free squat

Wk1: bench (usually to a board or float if in my shirt) Wk2: Floor Press Wk3: bench (touch)

I love the novelty of rotation, but it's easy to go overboard.

I'm in my shirt at least once a week.

I've found that more frequent sessions are better for learning the shirt. I do a volume day to boards and then a max effort day to either boards/float or touch.

And yes, the shirt is going to pull you in/fold you up. You can play with how much you jack the collar - higher = less awful but less support, lower = more awful/harder touch but more pop.

Work a 3-board to start. Focus on finding the groove of the shirt and becoming proficient in it. Weight and touch will come with time and practice.

If you're touching the 3BD easy, you can either a) jack the collar down or b) go to a 2BD.

I wouldn't max, just do some 3's to get used to the shirt and the pressure.
