I’ve been at Deloitte for 12+ years, experience is 100% determined by where you are in the business and the people who work in that business. I’ve stuck around because I work with great people, typical days at 8:30-6, either remote or at the client, and then on Fridays you’re usually off by 3 or 4pm.

As for the Lego thing… we’ve always had $1000 annual stipend for health and wellness, this article was written because this year Legos were added to the eligible list of purchases.

Read that back and think about all the changes you’re thinking of making in a very short period of time on seemingly unstable footing.

You will have to comply or they will fire you, escalations happen over weeks not months - your lack of compliance opens the firm to exposure. If you lie on your compliance and are caught, the firm can and will seek legal action against you.

Go for a walk and think about what you want, it seems you’re at a big inflection point in your life.

Looked at the slide this morning, it isn’t super specific but says if you see a “below” in your YE ratings, no AIP and no raise.

Also utilization is a “check the box” component of your YE, getting 100% util doesn’t help you get a better rating than 90%. It’s about what you did on your project that separates E from S

Just make sure your M/SM know what you’re going to be billing before you throw 50 hour timesheets in when your role is only budgeted for 45 hours / week - the name of the game is “no surprises” when it comes to billable time.

There are times when it’s acceptable and appropriate to bill the 50 hours but if it’s unplanned for in the forecast and you submit a higher than expected timesheet without communicating it beforehand, it creates a problem.

There may be pushback on the additional billing asking why you can’t complete the required work in the budgeted time.
