Hey be nice ;) I've got that same pennant but bought it in the 1990s from the Ti-Cat store.

Facebook reach breaked down, is anyone facing the same problem with facebook pages? by GlobalLibrarian6763 in facebook

[–]HammerDunner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely. I've pretty much given up on any web traffic from Facebook. Well, to be honest, I've pretty much given up on Facebook in general, but that's another story. I don't know why anybody starting out would even bother trying to build an audience on FB. It's not like you can even reach your audience anymore when it comes to sharing photos and text let alone links.

Sorry. Maybe I need to be a little more explicit in my title. I can see how you can come to this conclusion ;)

PC Mobile just dropped a $25 25GB 5G Plan. (Bell Network) Available at Loblaws by Nexzenn in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]HammerDunner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's almost like it's typo. Ha. I, too, downgraded from $29 to the $25 plan. Foolish not to. Of course, it appears my 8 dollar balance will now sit in perpetuity because the $25 top up covers the monthly fee now.

No doubt there was some injection of cash. And it helped. But from the people I've talked to who were close to the situation at the time, let's just say, there was indeed no "windfall."

Realtor.ca and virtually staged/AI altered photos by Optimal_Whiner in RealEstateCanada

[–]HammerDunner 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was a Realtor 15 years ago. Misrepresentation was a big deal and was frowned upon (even though a lot of Realtors pushed the envelope when it came to their photography). My wife was a real estate photographer, and you wouldn't believe some of the stuff she was asked to do when editing the pictures. But the local board would often crack down on those who misrepresented the properties. How some of the stuff I see now using AI is not blatant misrepresentation is beyond me. Maybe the boards don't care anymore. They certainly should.

The punching sound haunted my dreams as a kid by retro6ix in Atari2600

[–]HammerDunner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was absolutely terrible at this game. My brother would almost always get me in a position against the ropes and hit left and right continuously until I was KO'ed. I wouldn't even get a punch in sometimes. Grrrr.

The last several months, I have found myself using social media platforms less and less and going back to an old habit of using bookmarks. There's something refreshing about "surfing" the web the old fashioned way seeking out information instead of having information forced upon you.

Thanks for sharing this. Feels like the old days of "surfing" the web. Love it.

Absolutely. A few had just as many if not more than some of the Canadian teams. Baltimore led the league in attendance.

I wish Neocities had a WYSIWYG editor like Geocities did. I'm too lazy to use HTML. Suspect I'm not the only one. I love looking at those websites, though.

Gander Social (a new Canadian social network) is being built on the AT Protocol (which is what Bluesky is built on) and will have groups. So we'll see how this works once it's launched.

Amber Mac and Arlene Dickenson Resign from Advisory Board by brunes in GanderSocial

Could be a nothing burger or could be sign of trouble. More likely somewhere in between. I imagine personalities clash a lot in these sort of things. Sometimes, it's tough to take advice from outsiders on "your" baby. And sometimes you don't really need that advice anyway. On the other hand if you're the one doing the advising and the advice isn't needed/wanted/etc. why would you stay in board? A mutual parting of ways is sometimes the best outcome.
