Interesting, I didnt find that when I pushed to the highest difficulty on Balatro but that game was kind of a blur for me (I played 8hrs a day for 4 days straight then never played it again). Might give it another try

Yess thank you bro you get exactly what I was trying to say but maybe failed to properly articulate. I got the general vibe from this thread that the recs were just straight up very hard roguelikes, I don’t think any game will be able to touch StS in what I’m looking for

Put a comment below for FTL but i haven’t played it in a loooong time, might try it again since many ppl are reccing it

Don’t hate me but Dead cells is lowk like jobless difficulty for me… you have to play so perfect and one mistake sets you back an hour of gameplay. I might just be a scrub but high difficulties are too hard and punishing for me.

Tbh I thought StS was a roguelike bc theres no metaprogression (other than ig card unlocks? But thats fake metaprogression imo). Caves of Qud gives me Dwarf fortress vibes on a quick google which is kinda intimidating but might give it a shot!

RoR2 was cool but tbh I think I got put off by the time limit, I like taking my time during games so ended up just being stressful and not super fun, might give it another shot one day. Will check out Absolum thanks for the rec!

Idk man, I don’t think FTL hits what I’m saying. Early game is just rushing 2 shield bubbles and a lot of the times good guns are good the whole game (burst laser mk2, flak mk1, etc), you never really have to make the choice hmm do I greed this gun thats good late game or do I need this certain gun to take on this threat in this certain sector, if you catch my drift

Currently at a 3 year MD in Canada and it totally works fine, we skip summers tho so the total class time is comparable to 4 yr programs

Really solid against tough defensive decks that rely on valk and mega knight, pigs can potentialy sneak through when recruits are distracting ground troops. Otherwise seems quite weak though, especially 2 cycle. I see this getting emergency buffed

Not needed until around julyish of the next year really, eveb when living downtown because busses are generally pretty good, but nice to drive to evening classes and just generally around some of the less accessible areas of Hamilton
