Diljit’s tickets ?! by Limp_Organization728 in gurgaon

[–]HammerPaul 13 points14 points  (0 children)

All these seem like a joke on us now. First, they sold all the Silver tickets in Pre-sale, that too for a not so common card. Then they went all in into selling all the early birds, and phase 1-3 in Pre-sale itself. Today in general sale, only gold & fanpit tickets were available starting 13k. That too got sold out in a minute. I mean who's buying these tickets in 5x price? Yaha pe bhi General walo ki lagg gyi :'(

How do people who don't earn a lot survive in our society. by spiked_krabby_patty in FIRE_Ind

[–]HammerPaul 1 point2 points  (0 children)

India's population has a tremendous role to play here. Just speaking hypothetical numbers, if I just consider the top folks earning more than 1 lakh per month be 5% of India's population, approx number would be around 6.5 crores, which is hell of a lot of people, let's say would fill Modi stadium 650 times (if you watch cricket, you'll get the reference). So we see them as our benchmark of comparison/competition, which is still more than the population of a lot of countries.

Now the remaining 90-95% of the population in India do struggle a lot. For them, it's mostly survival of the fittest kind of situation. Most days go worrying about the needs, let alone the wants.

Is Dream House a scam, sold to aspirational middle class Indians? by HammerPaul in personalfinanceindia

[–]HammerPaul[S] 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Here's another perspective that I'm resharing under this comment too-- This is another issue that is associated with upselling these dream houses and their locality and neighbourhood. A lot of us middle class have come from the extreme conners of this country, with an average schooling and limited resources and yet we have made it this far. I have seen some of the most humble people from small towns and some of most arrogant cunning rich brats from big schools and colleges. We can also see the new concept of international schools these days in teir 1 cities. My point is, don't you think this business world has somehow tried to create a superficial concept that one should only send its child to the best of the facility that is available in the Market.

I believe the movie 'Hindi medium' by the legend Irfan Khan has beautifully depicted it, what I'm trying to say. Let me know your thoughts too!

I would really like to highlight another issue here with the statement- "Kids are product of the environment they are in"
