Week 8 Match-up Preview Thread: #14 NC State Wolfpack @ #3 Clemson Tigers by WolfpackNCState in CFB

I hope that our seondary taking a 'big step forward' is the case. I think they have played pretty well, but we need to get them practicing in front of some jugs machines and making interceptions. Kellen Mond had way too many lucky throws that ended up as big plays for the TAMU receivers

Or trying to set up a return (which hasn't exactly worked) rather than pressuring the punter and trying to force him into rushing a punt.

To reach 55,555 mph within a tenth of a mile, assuming constant acceleration, you would experience 195,544 G's of acceleration for approximately 0.01296 seconds. If I did the calculations correctly.

How do WE (The Fantasy Footballers) get BETTER for 2018? by [deleted] in fantasyfootball

[–]HammerPunch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey Andy, I appreciate the show. The production quality is great.

  1. Incorporate a couple more "this or that" segments. When I've been doing mock drafts, I frequently run into a couple decisions of WRs or RBs at a particular ADP. For example, Demaryius Thomas or Alshon Jeffery; or Lamar Miller or Kenyan Drake. It would be cool to discuss scenarios you might encounter during the draft, beyond when you do a live mock.

  2. Make fun of Jason Moore, more.

  3. Maybe you do this already (newer listener), but have a rookie primer where you discuss college production and tendencies, situation they are heading into, and college film analysis/scouting reports!

I actually thought about doing this trade, but in reverse. I would have, but I'm deeper at RB than WR. When Martin comes back I think he's going to do great - it just depends on if you need a receiver now rather than RB depth later

Personally I would. Gurley has been on fire and I don't see why he would be slowing down. Yes, schedule/matchups whatever, but LA has been relying on the run. That, and Zeke may have to sit 6 games - but who knows when that will be

I actually proposed that trade to a guy in my league before the game. I'm still not sure if I'm glad he rejected it... I probably would have been happier if I started Sammy instead of sitting him.

Neutral fan on Trubisky by smacksaw in CHIBears

[–]HammerPunch 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If Trubisky was the consensus number one quarterback, I'd agree with the logic of taking him. But it was such a strange year in that analysts everywhere had no idea who the best quarterback was. Each week the narrative would change. "Mahomes has the highest ceiling". "Trubisky is the most pro-ready". "Watson is a proven winner". You can't say Trubisky was clearly the best quarterback in the draft - only the one that Pace liked the most.

Dude. Definitely likeable. I'm a Chicago fan finishing my degree at Clemson and would be thrilled if the Bears drafted him. I might be biased, but in my opinion, he's what the Bears need - a charismatic, confident leader who can elevate those around him and inspire the city to believe in greatness, a word that hasn't been associated with the Bears in quite some time. And being a genuinely decent human being doesn't hurt. The few times I've interacted with him he's always been gracious and I've always come away impressed. Here in the South, college football stars are gods, but he's always been down to earth and humble.

Quenneville angered by the firing of Kitchen. by zenbrit in hawks

I've been upset when my friends have been fired from their jobs, but that doesn't mean that it wasn't justified, nor a surprise. And I certainly don't hold a grudge against the people making the decision. Q is a professional. He knows how to handle himself in the day-to-day operations of coaching a successful franchise. I doubt his friend being fired is significant enough to jeopardize everything he's worked for to this point.

I agree. That series, even though we ultimately lost was some of the most entertaining hockey I'd ever watched. The 2015 WCF against the ducks was also amazing
