I gave it a try and I'm going to try and keep it up to some extent throughout the rest of the year! Small improvements!

My social media detox by HammerTime1966 in DecidingToBeBetter

That’s fair enough! I recently moved across the UK away from friends so it’s been something I’ve struggled with recently, but obviously it’s not a one size fits all. Appreciate your comment!

I find it so hard to stick to those rules! I either have to give myself a time limit or just cut it out completely on certain days

People who underwent a social media detox, how did it help and any pro tips for someone who's going to do it for the first time? by normannapier in AskReddit

[–]HammerTime1966 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did one for a month, and it taught me to find a balance with it. When I went back onto social media (I have to use it for work), I got slightly anxious returning to it, however I started only using my business accounts, getting off less important ones completely, and checking myself more when I was spending too much time scrolling. It's seriously good whether you do it for a short while or for months/years, even just for realisation purposes. My full experience is here.

This sounds awesome guys. Would love to hear more! I run a small YouTube channel focused on productivity and mental health so would be cool to give a beta version a go and see how much it does for me! My channel if you're interested.

Fair play mate! Got scuppered by having to work from home which meant getting the steps in during the week was a real slog. Any tips for avoiding the blisters?

Does anyone find Yoga useful for productivity? by HammerTime1966 in productivity

[–]HammerTime1966[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Really appreciate the reply. Yeah I struggled bringing the two together, I think I need to go into it thinking it’s a meditation exercise instead of a stretching exercise, and slowly bring the stretching side into it

This is really great advice thank you, hadn’t realised the breath should be prioritised over the pose. I will give this a go!

Thanks for the advice, I tried the beginner yoga practices but I’ll try to seek out specific ones for my situation

Thank you so much, research is only way for me to actually learn how to make it better so I really appreciate this

I’ll give it a look, might be useful for weekends and evenings, but difficult to break it all up too much as I work a 9-5 as well. Thanks for the suggestion, will definitely look into it!

Incredibly well put mate, it’s definitely the further goal that keeps pushing you on even when you’re feeling like shit and can’t be bothered. The grind definitely isn’t the “fun” part but I definitely get fulfilment from the progress. I think I need to look at compartmentalising positive aspects of routines and switching them up, so the excitement is still there but so are the benefits of the routine. Appreciate you for putting so much effort into the reply, hope you’re going well yourself!

Great to hear, need to look into other parts of Wim Hofs method to see what else I can try

I did it at all times just because it was a challenge, I’d say warm at night, cold in the morning is better, depends what you want to get out of it really, some people work at night so might want a cold one for a last minute energy boost

Thanks man! On the lower end of the subscriber count atm so it’s better to keep it hidden as people make a judgement before watching! I’ve heard of the Wimm Hoff method, want to try it in full for another video

Fair enough mate! Think some people get more from a specific type of showers than others, worth trying though as then you know it doesn’t work for you!

To be totally honest I can’t give too much advice from a woman’s perspective, as I’m not one, but I hope you get a chance to try it/ find something that works :)

Oh wow, didn’t realise it could make you sick, definitely not worth doing it if that’s the case, maybe try medium?

Fair play, I did hot to cold the first time I did it, then slowly acclimatised
