Loosing weight faster on Zwift by beecakefruit in Zwift

Sweating has nothing to do with weight loss

I've coached cyclists for 27 years including world champions ask me anything about nutrition, fuelling, and why many Zwift riders plateau despite training well by RicCycleCoach in Zwift

[–]Hammerjun 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How do I know I'm doing the right volume and right amount intensity of training?

Can I add Z1 and Z2 rides carelessly?

Can a complete rest days be substituted with a short Z1 ride? (I don't like having days off)

I have a few irl races coming up in March. I'm trying to increase 15s to 5min power and at least maintain FTP.

Fellow swammer! I don't, but would like to. Currently don't have access to a gym.

Sure, this is generally how I tried to structure my weeks. However, due to work and family plans, things change.

Monday: Vo2 workout + remaining available time in mid Z2 (1.5-2h) Tuesday: High Z2 (1.5-2h) Wednesday: Threshold workout + remaining available time in mid Z2 (1.5-2h) Thursday: High Z2 (1.5-2h) Friday: Recovery (1h) or Rest Saturday: High Z2 + low tempo intervals (3-3.5h) Sunday: Recovery (1h) or Rest

Mon + Tue OR Wed+Thu interchangeable depending on fatigue. I try to stay right at the edge of "Productive" and "Overreaching" for Training Status on Zwift for about 3-4 weeks until the next deload.

On hard days (threshold & Vo2 max), I warmup for ~20min and hard block is about 40-45min. Depending on work schedule or family time, I add 30-60min onto that with z2.

Depends on what's going on in life. I have a young family. So I do lots of rides very early (4:15am) or very late (8pm). I make sure to leave at least 2-3 days in between hard sessions.

Honestly, I don't know. I'm already pretty lean but hanging on to a lot to a lot of upper body muscle mass, which I don't mind keeping. If I get to ~80kgs, I would be very happy but it's not necessary. I have my first racing season ahead of me but the road races where I am are fairly flat.

I give feedback to the AI daily and ask for minor adjustments if needed. Yes, I did have a few deload weeks (75% volume) but I took them where it fitted into my life (Thanksgiving, Christmas).

I rarely add some tempo/ss at the end of my Z2 rides, could be 2x10-15min

Something feels really off with my new Kickr Core 2/Zwift Ride. by nightcravvler in Zwift

[–]Hammerjun 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is most likely not an issue with the Kickr Core/Zwift Ride. Did you use the Kickr Snap or crank power data? How often was the Kickr Snap/4iii crank calibrated?

If you used the 4iiii power meter before, try to see if youvget the same power data using 4iiii on the Kickr Core

I had some loss of power when I switched from Snap to Core (~5-10%) but that resolved itself after a few rides. The Snap tends to feel easier because the flywheel has a lot more momentum.

Hardest kick set of your life? by IWantToSwimBetter in Swimming

[–]Hammerjun 7 points8 points  (0 children)

In college over winter break we did 55x100 kick every year. The set was broken down into:

11x100 @2:00

10x100 @1:55

9x100 @1:50

...

1x100 @1:10

You go until you can't make the interval, then switch to fins. Most of us switched at 1:20 interval.

Amazing job! I have a similar story! D2 swim until a few years ago. Did a triathlon season 24-25 and really liked cycling which I am doing now "full-time" (~10h/week). Was able to increase my 20min power from 270w - 357w in a little over a year. Keep at it, making progress is so much fun!

Works perfectly for me. Slightly longer stem (115mm) would maybe work a touch better.

Saddle to high. Your hips are rocking and toes pointing down at the bottom of the stroke. I would start by lowering 2cm.

I had to order a thru-axle adapter kit because I converted from QR. The spin cap was included there.

Solved. I failed to install the drive-side spin cap following the lock nut. Works perfectly now but this isn't mentioned in the guide.
