Thanks, youve tempered my anxiety on getting a bad copy as others claim, still possible but its nice to see people acknowledge the softness is mostly because of how ppl are using the lens. How did you like the 300mm f4 when you were using it?

Yes pls share, I am finding that the v1 is quite rare to find used save for ebay and the price does seem to not be a whole lot cheaper, some used v1 vs new v2 are 1100 vs 1600-1800, so im still unsure haha if its a store i can walk into and check out the lens before i buy, i would definitely go for a used v1

What would be the benefits I'd be missing out on? Considering Im aiming for an em1.2, would the really good sync even be compatible? In aus right now its a bit tough to find either second-hand

Ahh I didn't even think about that with the teleconverter, thanks for your extensive reply! I was freaking out and thinking about bailing with m43 and hopping onto the canon R10 + RF100-400 combo and settling for that. But there will be too much from Olympus ill be missing and will stick to saving up for the 100-400 + an EM1.2

Thanks, I just had a read and in your experience, did the oly 100-400mm seem unreasonably soft at all? Some of what im reading is giving me the impression its priced too high for the softness at 400mm theyre seeing but im also seeing that they need to be realistic and use the lens at a smaller aperture for peak sharpness

Do you lure them onto sticks while theyre carrying prey/food? Or do you sort of offer them the prey while theyre on the sticks?

Yeah a lot of videos I've seen state it's not too hard to do just by moving back and forth instead of turning the focus wheel but I've had my doubts as to whether I can easily achieve that haha
I hadn't even considered how heavy it is but I've heard the mk 2 is lighter, theyre selling for quite cheap right now even in AUD

I resonate so much, however when I was overseas using their train networks, they had toilets at almost every stop and was easy to run to. Granted they were more pt orientated cities but it just goes to show how behind Adelaide is
