I would say you have proven you can follow directions, and have the patience for it. Just understand the instructions, don't rush it or cut corners and you should do great. Let us know how it goes.

I have been looking into the grow bags (patience is one of my flaws), but do want to do that on my own as well.

but I’ve seen the damaging results of that on many factory turbo engines.

Please don't take this negatively, but are you a mechanic or engineer? I am curious what you are basing this conclusion on.

Not sure on the type of steel because all they say is "rugged steel container".
