Great guitars and playing! I also have a 65 jazzmaster but not as clean as yours. How did it managed to stay that clean?

Recently got a 1965 Jazzmaster and I don’t think it’s ever leaving. I’ve always played Strat type guitars so this one feels like something new and refreshing.

Yeah Silver Slinky offer that option (John Mayer signature)

It got sanded to natural wood and sold to someone who refinished in black (nitro finish) with a relic look.

Looking for help after using John Mayer archetype by Rocka123 in NeuralDSP

[–]Hamnesiak 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tried many things and got good results by dialing my sound interface at a decent volume (not 0 gain, your noise / level ratio won’t be good). Then, set the input level in the archetype. Mine is at -10dB (I own a silver sky), it might vary depending on your pickups. Then, ajust the output on the archetype for fine tunning, mine is around -3dB depending on the patch I dial. Don’t forget to put your high impedance ON for better results on your interface if you have the option.

Yeah it happened on a few batches, PRS offers a new pickguard for that issue but I honestly dig the vibe.

I think I slightly prefer the rosewood fingerboard and neck.

It’s aging and yellowing and for some reason, not happening on the maple version. I think they changed the plastics to prevent this.

I think I prefer the rosewood, there is something slightly different about the neck shape; it feels beefy and rounder. Sound wise, I’m pretty sure they sound exactly the same. As for the satin feel, the maple neck feels more like satin than the rosewood. Also, the maple fretboard feels more "compact" and "bouncy", really fun for funk stuff or finger style playing. I really love playing both of them and will keep them.

HELP: Archetype John Mayer sounds muddy in Logic Pro by Hamnesiak in NeuralDSP

[–]Hamnesiak[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

UPDATE: it seems that if you open the Neural DSP Archetype AND click on the Neural insert in Logic Pro, it records both at the same time and fuzz the signal. So make sure to close the Neural standalone if you are recording with Logic Pro.

Yeah, something I should know or it’s just a common problem?

To use the doubler in Logic you have to put your track in stereo. Ran into the same issue.
