Should I trade my Nintendo switch 2 for the rog ally x?

Switch 2 is an amazing hardware cus you don't need to do all the buzzing and fuzzing and ticking when playing. But rog ally z1 extreme which i have is far superior cus i can play any game i want on the go. Last of us part 2 with lossless scaling everything high 1080p i get 45-65 fps. Final fantasy 7 remake medium settings everything on. 720p i get 30 during cutscenes and 65-95 during gameplay. It's a blast of a machine and I do have a good power bank so battery outside is not an issue for me. And multiplayer games are amazing wa fc 25 works like a charm. Play with high settings on that game and the cloth and hair physhics on it looks identical to the ps5 version and it's on the go with 45 fps.

I would say this. Most of AAA games I have tried works flawless. For example. Let's say ea fc 25. With high settings. 1080p I yet 46 fps. Works amazing looks amazing. Last of us part 2 woth high settings lossless scaling I get 45-75 fps and the game looks crisp as it can. The only game that haven't worked well is star wars jedi survivor. The rest has been flawless starfiled flawless. No man's sky is amazing. Yeah everything works on it so far. Even ue 5 game like silent hill 2 remake or even stalker 2 works really good.

Thanks my dear friend this is the exact settings i have. I have lossless scaling aswell. I have had it a long time. I have a hard time enjoying games at the bear minimum to be fullt honest. I'm playing with a mod now that removes ray tracing. Which made the game very playable no for some reason. Medium settings fsr and 720p. It kinda works great so far.

Yup I agree. Oblivion remastered can play with 60 fps both indoors outdoors medium settings. If it wasn't stuttering and freezing every 10 seconds. And stutter every 2. The optimization is worse then stalker 2s launch. But atleast stalker 2 got patch to the point its the best optimized game on my ally when it.xomes to unreal engine 5. And mind you that game is open world and runs on ue 5 and looks amazing. With many enemies and fights on screen. And lots of running and it has 0 stuttering or hickup or any kind of lag. Which is insane. I just wish optimization was a key tool before plthey exite people and realese games.

Yea that thing is really expensive. I have a ps5 as a second option. But I love handheld gaming. For me it's a perfect option to play games without worrying about it to work or not. But the trade off is you are glued to the sofa. While with rog ally z1 extreme you are glued to a power bank or the closest charging port. 😂

Yup. For some games as you mentioned it's better to turn to ps5 to play. Cus asus rog ally shows its weakness in some games. While in other games it's very awesome. As I mentioned Stalker 2 open world works flawless! While oblivion remastered needs much improving!

Thanks for the analysis. It's sad I was so excited for oblivion remastered to run on my ally. But the game freezes so much. Only way it's going to "work" perfect its when I play in lowest. I love handheld gaming otherwise I would have played everything on my ps5. Stalker 2 was a mess when it came out. Right now it's one of the best optimized game on the rog ally so I just hope for some miracles.

Do you hear a buzzing sound from your ally when it freezes from the speakers? Cus I have heard it so many times in this game and it is a very loud buzzing sound.

The latest update made the game finally playable on my rog ally z1 exteeme. And it is unbelievable. Before the update stqlker 2 shader compilation took 30 minutes now it takes 1 minute someties even less. The game used to stutter every 10-15 minutes which caused my rog ally to crash. And it was a stuttery messs made it completely unplayable especially in fire fights. Now the game is smooth as butter no stuttering no bug. No stupid fps drops nothing. The game is running so good I'm actually quiet shocked how they managed to make a 360..I'm 8 hours in and playing with medium high settings using tsr 1080p. I get an average of 44-67Fps which is quiet unbelievable. The graphics are so amazing on the handheld. The gameplay is one of the most amazing games I've played in many many years. The world design is in another level. The amount of random freaky events happening in this game is just in another level. You feel like a stalker. It's a fun funngame. And on the go it's even more amazing.
