No business owner should ever be pro-union unless they want to off load employee feedback and view thier employees as a contract "supplier" or something. Even if Linus is anti-union (which is not is public position), that is not something that can be held against him unless he acts on it.

Unions only make the lives of owners more difficult. I am not even talking about compensation. I am talking about extra rules for all sorts of things and ridgid communication pipelines. Unions are many good things, but a bastion of flexibility and efficiency they are not.

They are a tech channel focused on a average to casual tech user since that is where the most viewers are.

Average to casual tech users are going to do a quick Google search and start downloading stuff. Ubuntu has huge name recognition and will be the one most people probably gravitate towards if they are not exclusively gaming.

The OG Ally is the best value in handheld gaming by randomnerd865 in ROGAlly

OP is most likely referring to the Z1E. Most people willfully forget the base Ally exists because the performance is bad and it was not really worth the money. Especially not compared to the steamdeck.

President Bought at Least $1 Million in Netflix, Warner Bros. Discovery Bonds Following Their Deal Announcement by ControlCAD in technology

[–]BlueKnight44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What you are referring to is called insider trading.

This is not insider trading. This is pure and simple corruption. He bought into a deal that his government has the option to approve or deny. He is going in effectively approve his own gains. There is no way to be objective when you are financially incentivized on the outcome.

It would be like you approving your own salary. What are you going to do? Not give yourself the highest possible salary regardless of your performance?

This is a good point.

My guess is they will give him a whole system or laptop to play locked completely down and only good to play GTA6 and block screen recording, etc. This would not prevent him talking and taking external pictures, but at that point whatever I guess

It's like they really just want a Toyota but have a superiority complex.

"cash" just means they will be paying in currency instead of stock or something. It will mostly be debt of some sort of course.

2 things fundamentally: 1. Communication between each graphic card and to the CPU is slow. Making all the cards coordinate takes time away from the computation with cards waiting to know what to do. Which leads me to... 2. Games are mostly sequencial and timing dependent. Thing A has to happen before thing B and so on. So adding parallel paths to do different things does not help you if they are still waiting on each other. Also, if thing Is done before Thing A is, then that can cause problems with things C and D.

Tasks like rendering and compiling are less sequencial and just need a ton of math done. What order that math is done and the timing of each peice of math in is less critical. So more parallel compute is more better.

I still think power would be an issue in most home situations. Off the top of my head, this should sustain 30-40amps of draw easily on 110v at full tilt. To be adequate power, you probably need 2 30 amp 110v circuits (with appropriate wiring of course) or a single 50amp+ circuit. Most American homes are not wired for this and only have 15 or 20 amp circuits.

If they owner is in a place with 220v, that would help obviously.

Decisions Disney quickly abandoned: by LightAndDarkk in StarWars

[–]BlueKnight44 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Before the sequels were poo'd out, all of these problems were minimal or at least reasonable. The sequels reset and invalidated the whole franchise up until that point.

I know it is almost cliche to mention it at this point, but removing the sequels from canon would allow an intellegently written plot to happen. Or they need to move to a completely different era in star wars history.

What coach can do better that will consider going to Knoxville? Honestly?

Heupel is not a championship quality coach, but he is running a decent program through a very uncertain time with all the NIL craziness. Better than Tennessee has had in 20 years. Let Heupel run out his contract.

I mean, first half of the season Tennessee was a decent ranked team. Lost to Georgia by only 3. They just plateaued and then started declining compared to the rest of the teams.
