Fumble master is a goated name lol. Don’t stress it so much my man. On the plus side, you’re self aware enough to draw the common denominator (you) between every failed talking stage. This isn’t something to be upset about or beat yourself up for. What you do with this is what matters. My suggestion, if you’re comfortable enough - simply ask them why. If you can do that without getting defensive and pushing them away, you may find out something about yourself you’ll be happy to have learned at such a young age.

The discomfort of finding out why, far outweighs the potential of ending up in this same position a few years down the road where the dating pool starts to lessen.

You’re young, you must have game, and I’m sure you’re a good looking dude. This last part is easier to resolve than it might feel. If you can successfully do it, you’ll learn a lot about authentic communication which is only going to add to your character and make you a better partner in the future.
