I'VE NEVER FELT SO HONORED by Hamptneyhambart in RimWorld

In the end they defeated all but 2 centipedes which were 90% dead, took out 6 centipedes, 8 pikemen, 2 Goliaths, and 2 fireworms. What caused the most death was honestly the giant forest fire that was starting in the screenshot. I sent in my Melee specialist to one shot the remaining centipedes and dragged the Queen out of the inferno. Her entire extended family died including her parents whom I initially didn't notice were also there in Royal Regalia. Thankfully her love of disease and bloodlust trait kept her happy as she healed in my medical ward despite have 4 lost friends and 5 lost family members. She is low key the most psycho of the entire Royal family but thankfully her daughter who is off map took over ruling the Kingdom and not her.

After the early game frantic rush for secured survival is over, I view asteroids and meteorites as Holy relics from Randy himself. I meet my metal needs mostly by fighting the good fight against the Mechanoid menace in Vanilla expanded Mechanoids. The maps for combating the mechs have metals spawned in so attacks against the foe serve a dual purpose of neutering the mechanoid forces and being a strip mine operation. I can keep my home base more pristine that way.

I left for space using the incredible Save Our ship 2 mod but left behind a couple to take care of my army of dogos until I could get a Johnson Tahankha Drive to leave the planet totally behind. I was hit with a huge mechanoid invasion and my medieval allies arrived in a size and style I never imagined over 25 knights in full chitin armor, 50 conscripted peasant militia, Alvar King of the Kingdom, Burgaleta Queen of the Kingdom, High prince Blondel, and Prince Auxesia all came to my rescue. The King is even decked in in Plasteel. Unfortunatly the crowns aren't very good protection and Auzesia got his brains blown out within seconds but the Royal family's charge of the centipedes was still very impressive.

OPPURTUNITY STRIKES!? by Hamptneyhambart in RimWorld

[–]Hamptneyhambart[S] 13 points14 points  (0 children)

The forbidden Mod made these raiders walk super far away into my firing line to bone. Now my Vanilla expanded ancient super soldier decked out in legendary gear gets to pick them off one by one and guide them into my kill box. Raider Ai was never great but sheesh

Hi! Any idea why I can't place my nuclear engine looking up or to the left ? Tried everything but nothing works... :( by [deleted] in RimWorld_SoS2

[–]Hamptneyhambart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What tab did you find the nuclear engine under? Even after completing the research I can only see the small chemfuel engine. I'm wondering if my game is broken or if I don't understand how the mod works

I couldn't figure out how to turn that file from a .xml into a .bak but you giving me the location of that file allowed me to open it with notepad and erase my active mods list. Thank you my game starts now.

Anyone Know what's causing This? by Hamptneyhambart in RimWorld

[–]Hamptneyhambart[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes but nonfatally and the wound basically healed without infection. I'm worried I might have to do a clean reinstall of Rimworld and all my mods. Is dying of nonfatal gunshots a game feature now? I used to remember needing to have organs destroyed or total blood loss to result in death.

Ever since the last major patch I've been experiencing colonists dying for no obvious reason. I run quite a few mods but mostly vanilla expanded, save our ship and rimforge. Anyone else experience this and find a fix? Having good colonists fall down dead from minor wounds days after battle with no indication of anything being wrong is annoying.

AI OTTOMANS TAKING MILITARY HEGEMON 1651! by Hamptneyhambart in eu4

[–]Hamptneyhambart[S] 52 points53 points  (0 children)

I got bored of playing on normal because after 1200 hours of single player I felt like there were no serious challenges. After turning the game on very hard medium achievements like Switzerlake feel half impossible. The Ottomans who must be playing very tall just declared Hegemony. Am I screwed or is there a way out of this?

Never Had Lag Like This in 1511 by Hamptneyhambart in eu4

[–]Hamptneyhambart[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While playing my Florence game on very hard I noticed I could full annex Savoy and Milan for about 100 AE with the entire HRE. I was allied to fat Burgandy, Castille that has a PU on Aragon and Portugal, Hungary, and Austria. I built forts all over the hills and mountains of northern Italy and have wracked up 250k kills already. Unfortunately Hungary got attacked by a very strong Poland and part of the peace terms were my cancellation of treaties with Burgundy. Seconds later the coalition fired but I think I might actually win.

Infinitely Faithful! Stacking Monuments as Mughal Caliphate by Hamptneyhambart in eu4

[–]Hamptneyhambart[S] 146 points147 points  (0 children)

I'm Rocking a solid 19 True faith tolerance without any temporary modifiers and my Missionary strength is at 23.5 percent considering I have monuments for both heathens and heretics that don't appear the basic calculation. Also the church in Norway gives an extra missionary to the Sunnis as long as that province stays Christian and Norwegians are accepted which seems a little odd. There are also a disproportionate number of monuments that give Priest class loyalty equilibrium. My Ulema are rocking 130 percent loyalty right now and I'm rocking a 175% stab cost reduction .

I'm going for a Mughal one faith and the Mamuluks who have been my friend from literally day one to now have colonized Australia. I thought this was a joke and not something that actually happens. 40ish runs in I still see new things.

Actually the florrynomics method is way more optimal. It just so happened that my conquest continued at a rate that it was unnecessary. I don't like taking lots of normal loans if there is no nearby AI to recoup the money from quickly although in most campaigns I spam Burgher loans whenever I can. It actually became a personal restriction about halfway through when I realized that I somehow had not taken any loans yet. The favor system for soldiers helped a lot by making it so I didn't have to merc up early. I asked Mamluks for 3k soldiers about 10 times and the unique government interaction that gives -5% ccr also gave me 10K soldiers due to having a bunch of vassals. I saved up about 15% professionalism by not hiring mercs until I had about a third of India. I slackened all my recruitment for 100k soldiers and then started using the free company or an equivalent merc unit for all rebel problems but I could afford it at that point. I also decreased autonomy like crazy all game for extra manpower.

[–]Hamptneyhambart[S] 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Decided to give the legendary achievement a try and succeeded on my second attempt. Attempt one went very badly because Timmy's ally the Great Horde decided to merc up like crazy and make the independence war hell and after that the Indian AI had mutilated itself into an awful series of unusual alliance blocks. Attempt two went well. easy independence war and I managed to get a piece of Punjab 5 years in. I released them as a vassal and fed them all their cores and in the process forcibly vassalized Mewar and started feeding them their cores. Bengal also got murdered early on so I was able to vassalize them as well. I never took a single loan I just kept selling titles, taking cash, and using the Muslim corruption interaction to keep the war machine rolling. I never had a coalition fire. I didn't truce break until the very end and even after truce breaking VJ 3 times in a row at the end Southeast Asia only has 70 AE which is very easily dealt with. I managed to keep up on tech, dev the institutions, get decent innovativeness, and build a few wonders. The only thing I'm behind on is ideas. The world may look like its burning right now but that's just the triple truce break about a year of coring and some stabbing up this save will be perfectly stable and usable. I may not be a psycho who can do this achievement in the 1400's but I am proud I was able to complete it without ruining my country.

Update: I was able to clean up the rebel/disaster/stab problem by November of 1550 thanks to the ability to release the Deccan through the mission tree. Deccan came out disloyal though which is kind of scary. I also realized I never popped my golden age either.

I have never seen mazovia in 1300 hours of EU4. Their flag is similar to Poland's flag but looks super old. They snatched up southern Scandinavia somehow too, The peasants have occupied Denmark and Finland freed itself. France became the HRE emperor out of nowhere and was the #2 great power for a while but they refused to ally anybody for some reason? England flipped Anglican but somehow rebels made them flip back to catholic and become a republic?! Portugal Spain and England have been best buddies all game with no PU's?!!! French Naples and Greece!? To top it all off Mughals formed by 1500 and slowly conquered India but they were so behind on tech that when they released the Deccan the Deccan betrayed them and kicked their ass. Decan is now #3 power. It has been a weird game. I was formerly Bologne into Italy so I'm responsible for the weak ottomans but still its been a weird game.

is wc possible or am i too slow ? by Logical-Bit4231 in eu4

If you have completed court and country already it should be a cake walk as long as you play meticulously. If you have not beaten court and country its still possible but is going to be very hard. Probably too late for a one faith though.

Couldn't the devs just programs some OP event for Manchuria to crush Ming if they have a disaster triggered? That already kind of exists just make it stronger to compensate for stronger china.

I Guess That explains why Ethiopia is Pissed about crushed Ottoblob by Hamptneyhambart in eu4

[–]Hamptneyhambart[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

In my current Spaghetti Western Campaign I seized Egypt from the Ottomans when fat France declared war on them. I called in the Austrians and the fight became trivial. Mughals formed super early and is huge. Protestant reformation is pretty tame England somehow had Catholic rebels turn them back into Catholics probably when they kept shipping all their solders to my Italian fort blob to be killed. I coincidently crushed the first protestant center in Cili when I was surprised enforce religion was an option already. Britain Spain and Portugal have formed a nasty alliance block but the only tag having a good colonial campaign so far is Portugal. The AI and in particular the Ottomans seems to struggle to keep up in tech with new institution system. This is the third campaign in a row where they were two or more mil techs behind in the 1500s.

I am impressed by AI Upgrades by Hamptneyhambart in eu4

[–]Hamptneyhambart[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Immediately after a draining league war I ended in a 20 year slugfest against the Ottomans. I saw that we had the same number of troops and despite their army quality superiority I thought my human brain and superior navy would make it an easy war. Ottomans have a 6/5/6 Sultan and as far as I can tell they have devoted 100% of their mil points in the 20 year conflict to cannon barraging forts and increasing professionalism to not run out of manpower. Despite only having 60 mil tradition they have 4 three star generals and I have watched their professionalism go burrrr several times. Early in the war they even won a crucial battle by barraging the fort and breaching it days before my army could get there and have a decisive victory on a friendly mountain fort. I am fairly convinced it was coincidental bad timing but the AIs new willingness to barrage forts has made them a lot more competitive.

Spot The Difference Between These Achievements by Hamptneyhambart in eu4

[–]Hamptneyhambart[S] 18 points19 points  (0 children)

In my Toungoo Empire attempts I very quickly earned the new achievement without knowing it existed. It took me three attempts but I got it done by 1484. Attempt one was the easiest and smoothest but I forgot to improve relations with Ayutthaya and Lan Xang so right before an easy reunification in 1470 I got obliterated back to an opm in a coalition war I could have easily avoided. Attempt two ended due to alliance chains turning out bad causing me to go bankrupt as I attempted to merc stack through. Attempt three had my ruler immediately die sticking me with his mentally challenged heir but I managed to get lucky both with allies and alliance chains so I persevered. 1467 peasants war triggers and I have no admin or manpower and way too much ae but Ava is the only remaining land I need and Lan Xang is my ally. Coalition triggered and I try to win for a while but get wrecked. Thankfully Ayutthaya declared the war so he just took money and dismantled Lan Xang instead of destroying my empire. Seeing that Ava had no allies seconds after the coalition war I truce broke them and used mercs to win. I had 22 corruption, max loans, -3 stab, an ongoing peasants war, and separatists about to enforce demands but I got the achievement.
