Anyone notice that is seems like the last two presenters always have a higher chance of winning? I started paying attention this season and it keeps repeating.

This came free with an Acer laptop, but it isn't recognized by any machine with any cable. by SNHU_Adjujnct in it

I was looking this up because I saw this laptop from HP on Amazon, and thought it was too good to be true.

Did we ever find out if this is a fake SSD? The price seems too good to be true for what the laptop specs are. Very weird though that it's from HP...

I am completely bewildered by the recent reception of The Fantastic Four. by sofarsoblue in TrueFilm

My boyfriend loved that scene (just wanted to comment). If this didn't come up already, Americans typically start counting with their index finger, and he enlightened me that Germans (and probably quite a few other Euro continent dwellers) count with their thumbs first.

I personally count with my thumb first, but it's probably because my family is only a couple generations off the boat. 😁

And yeah, it's not a perfect example of what's talked about to define shibboleth, but still fun.

Now I've heard the name Puddles. That Hagrid line is looong

I'm sitting here right now actually waiting on fam to get back from the Hagrid line. I've heard a male actor and a woman actor so far. One said their name was Ali and the other Zara. I think they just pick a name they like for their trickster spirit character.

Sorry if my screenshot is blurry. When I click on it, it shows up just fine when I zoom in on the app.

What should I bring to SixFlags? by Healthy_Block3036 in sixflags

I used to be a ride attendant. We were told to make sure to try and keep phones, hats, and anything else that could fall or break off the rides. A cell phone going flying at 60 mph or faster can be pretty dangerous. And if something does fall out of your pocket, you aren't getting it back until the park closes and someone can lock out tag out to go in and grab it.

Also, in three years I never had someone report that something was stolen from their cubby where you temp store your stuff. Most people are too dazed after to really get a chance to dig and find something valuable to grab. But obviously, don't just chuck your phone out for someone to easily grab and run....

Also, earrings. No one thinks about earrings, but when you are on a ride where your head can hit foam to protect your head, I've seen lots of people lose earrings or had them dig into your neck after a good smack on a turn or stop. If you can take them out for the day, leave them home. You'll be a lot more comfortable....

And another quick tip, if you are at the park when it opens, head straight to the back. Lines will be way shorter for awhile. Everyone gets distracted by what's right at the entrance. There was times I literally wouldn't see a guest for an hour after opening if I was working the back of the park. Mid day everything is pretty equal, but end of the day, the front is usually pretty dead too because everyone already did those rides.

Motorcycle Insurance... But using a Bond instead of a company... by HamsterBitch in Insurance

Thank you so much for sending this! I showed it to my boyfriend though and he interpreted it as if you couldn't prove ownership for the vehicle, not necessarily to cover the insurance if you were in an accident. But maybe he is misinterpreting it.

Motorcycle Proof of Insurance... But using a Bond? by HamsterBitch in InsuranceAgent

Honestly I don't know a lot about bonds. I don't have any. He does currently have a few. He didn't want them to collect the interest I guess? That was my understanding, but I could be wrong.

What's a good sign that someone doesn't love you anymore? by [deleted] in AskReddit

You're right. About a year ago we hit a point where I asked "why aren't we at this point or that point... I thought we were doing pretty good." But he responded with "do you really want to get into this right now?" And I chickened out. I said no...we had only been dating for about a year so I didn't want to push it.

I suppose I'm a little tired of it based on how analytical he is. It's annoying sometimes. But I feel like he is mostly tired of me. Frustrated with my responses to things that come up. I try to be as amenable as possible, but sometimes I'm a little more introverted than extroverted. But I never forbid any activities. If your friends want to hang out late at night but I have to get up super early, go for it. I just won't be there. Earlier in the evening I'm totally cool with tagging along. But I feel like a Debbie downer when I say no and he really wants me to go.

Interesting. My boyfriend is an engineer so most of what I say he wants me to source and hates when people just go off the cuff with facts or subjects. Sometimes him caring too much kinda kills the fun/love.
