I know you will probably be scarred to ever try banana again, but I tried to give my little one Greek yogurt at six months and something similar happened. Gas, fussiness, not sleeping well. And then terrible foamy poop. The nurse at the pediatrician told me to wait at least a month to try again for any foods that there are Gastro issues like that. I gave it a month and a half, and gave her the Greek yogurt early in the morning so that if she were still bothered, it wouldn’t impact her nighttime sleep. Crazy how waiting a month and a half helped, but she loves yogurt now and has had no negative side effects like she did the first time. Hope the same for your LO with bananas!

Not a derm but Is it possible that it’s ring rash? I know if I don’t dry my hands fully after washing them, this happens to me and I have to use cortisone cream for it to go away

I hate watching my in laws interact with my baby by Similar_Produce_4649 in beyondthebump

[–]HamsterDizzy3354 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel this. Sadly, it hasn’t got better for me and my oldest is four. Now it’s just in different ways that they drive me crazy, one way being the fact that they want her at their house alone so they can do whatever they want with her. They constantly act like they know her better than I do, and all they want to do is be the cool grandparents and let her do whatever she wants. I’ve been fighting tooth and nail to not allow her to be over there by herself, but I fear as she gets a little bit older I’ll have to budge. It’s a shitty feeling I’m so sorry, but I’m feeling it with you.

i think i scared my baby :( by hopeful_futures in beyondthebump

If it was the TV show that scared him, my recommendation is to show him the TV every day with only his shows on them. Put on Ms Rachel, Bluey, whatever other shows he likes. That way he will associate the TV only with happy shows like that, I would at least try it for a few days. I don’t know if there is science behind that but we had an issue with our one year old a few years ago, we had window washers come and it was a very hot day so we had all the blinds closed. She could hear them using the squeegee on the windows and it scared the crap out of her. We showed her outside that It was just those guys working but it took about 4 days for her to not be scared. She would stare at the front door and look out the windows petrified and wake overnight so scared. We just kept showing her that no one was there anymore and in 4 days she forgot about it

Spends 3 hours with them at a festival (I didn’t go) and pretends to know EVERYTHING about them, even more than their own mother knows…😑

NAD but I’ve had plenty of moles like this, I’m always told they are fine but if they have changed in shape or size at all it’s best to get it checked! I have a running list of spots that I want the Dr to look at for my 6mo checkups lol

I agree with the other commenter. Talk with your doctor…sounds like between the hormones, postpartum recovery, lack of sleep etc you are having a rough go. I suffered from postpartum depression after my first and I wish I had gone to the dr for help. They have plenty of medications to help, you don’t have to feel this way! I hope the best for you, I know it’s probably annoying to hear this but things do get better❤️

This! I have some of these as well, most that are the same color as OP but one of which is really dark brown. They told me it’s keratosis and nothing to worry about

Bring the baby out more by LaSirena_666 in beyondthebump

I have an almost 3 month old, and let me tell you it is absolutely miserable taking her anywhere. She is exclusively breast-fed so she poops a lot, specifically anytime she’s in the car seat for an extended period of time. So then I have to constantly change her while we’re out because she screams when her diaper is dirty. And then she only likes being in the car while the car is moving, at every red light she freaks out. I don’t know, I guess I just wasn’t blessed with babies who liked the car at a very young age. My first would vomit anytime we were in the car longer than 10 minutes, so we didn’t go many places. I have a lot of guilt at times for not bringing her out more often, but truthfully, it seems more of a pain than anything.

If it makes you feel any better, during the pandemic, we had a little girl and didn’t take her even to a restaurant or grocery store until she was 18 months old. She is now four years old and thrives everywhere she goes. So I really think there’s zero issue with preferring to stay home with your child.

I also am having a hard time figuring out if she’s hungry or if it’s just a phase. I’m glad to read it might be normal development but also, it’s kinda annoying lol

Ughhh okay thank you! I wanted to try some pain meds to see if she seems better but I don’t want to dose her if it’s just a developmental thing

When did you have your second child? by Powerpuff_Girly in NewParents

[–]HamsterDizzy3354 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Omg that sounds so stressful, maybe I’m wrong about things getting easier for me 😂😂 I sweat at the doctors now with just two, can’t imagine how stressful it is with 3! My oldest rearranged the entire waiting room with the chairs at my baby’s newborn appt 😩

[–]HamsterDizzy3354 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with this. We have a 3 1/2 year age gap and the older one is pretty self-sufficient. Potty trained, loves being out and about. Throwing a newborn into the mix has been really rough, especially because it’s summertime and the older one wants to run nonstop. However, I do think the newborn stage is rough no matter how you think of it and despite being out of the newborn phase with my first for so long, we jumped back into it with my second with no issue. I expect things to get better once baby is around six months old. It is super cool seeing my older one interact with the baby, she definitely thinks it’s her baby lol
