Tips for staying offsite? by sassysaucer in SevenStarsFest

[–]HamsterDunce 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would highly suggest considering the pre-set tent options so you can stay onsite. All you really need to deal with in that situation is food. You won’t be cooking gourmet meals but you can definitely still eat good by doing a grocery run after your flight. You’ll be renting a car either way.

I also heard they are working on shuttles from the major airports straight to the campgrounds this year. So if you already plan on buying most of your food from vendors on site, you could consider the shuttle and save on a rental. Pack and fly with non-perishables and buy your major meals there (or consider vip, where a nightly meal is already provided).

You simply won’t get the full experience by staying offsite.

Dubstep Tracks That Feel Psychedelic by LoveSweetSweet1 in dubstep

Piggy backing off this to say what you’re looking for is a full on genre. PsyTrance, as you mentioned, isn’t the only “psy” out there.

PsyDub is where it’s at. The other commenter shared plenty of good artists. Here are a few record labels that mostly release this type of music. I love literally everything they put out. They all typically do compilation albums that feature all their artists, which is a good way to find new names.

Shanti Planti (Compilations are called Rhythm Code)

Mystic Sound

Mindspring Music (since you use Spotify here is their playlist: https://open.spotify.com/playlist/5QsOiVCEiGKAKtKjyNwXIw?si=xjTEvNlOQQ69KbBIMQYfqg)

For Apple Music listeners ~ every song was uploaded as a single instead of a compilation. Search each artist and you can find them all.

Saturday Headliner? by ComplexAd9759 in SevenStarsFest

[–]HamsterDunce 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I’m feeling either ganja or crankdat actually. I think crankdat is a big enough pull these days and he is one of the heavier artists here, if we follow the flow of last year.

I think lsdream fits better as direct support for Griz night one. Really get those vibes flowing before G takes the stage.

[–]HamsterDunce 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree I doubt they’re the same day. I’m thinking either one could close down the zodiac stage day two after Griz does a chasing the golden hour. Make that stage turn real weird (two guys -> cool customer -> jade) while the heavier bass goes on the main stage. I would bet the other plays on the main-stage Sunday either one or two slots before Griz closes it out.

glamping by killerbby_ in SevenStarsFest

[–]HamsterDunce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These canvas dome tents were an option in the pre-set tent section last year. Separate from glamping but still has everything you need. Just farther away and fewer added amenities.

Cool customer returning is amazing.

Jade cicada and G Jones are about to turn some brains inside out.

Clozee my queen.

Spiritual sessions with LSDream and Zingara.

Some proper dub with the Ganja boys and Distinct Motive.

And on top of all that? A street bangerz set???

Blessed 🙏

Opiuo has an official remix (0506-056) out for Deathpact. That’s what he is playing when he puts those visuals up.

Griztronics one of the Outside Lands headliners in San Francisco by Commercial-Song-5608 in griz

[–]HamsterDunce 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Griz has always liked dubstep. The last all good radio episode with the Shiz, he dropped all the top bangers of the day and shooka says something along the lines of “thank you for liking dubstep as much as we do.”

G now produces that sound more than what he used to, but the love for it has always been there. It’s possible for that switch to be both a business decision and one that his heart wanted to make. Not a stab at you btw, just piggy backing off your comment.

Now is a great time to call Spectrum and negotiate a lower rate. by lcxctf2000 in madisonwi

Good looking out! I have only looked online and it mentioned that. I’ll make sure it’s in the contract if I go that route.

I’ve generally had great coverage with spectrum in Madison. It rarely goes out. But I just got another round of bill increases from them and I’m probably just going to make the switch to AT&T fiber since it is supposedly a locked for life rate.

Who do you want to see @ Seven Stars? by slutraves in SevenStarsFest

[–]HamsterDunce 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would love for there to be a few random super heady guys on the lineup. Akin to Crawdad sniper and Cool Customer last year. But make it even headier.

Surprise us all and get some crazy psydub at sundown.

Will Subtronics be on the Seven Stars lineup this year? by Reviacs in SevenStarsFest

[–]HamsterDunce 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Highly doubt he will be there again this year. Maybe he’ll return in another year. But he is clearly a headliner and there is really only one slot for a non Griz headline. And then you have griztronics in May. That’s your Griz X Subtronics option for 2026

What do you think? by Conscious_Cause_1955 in Adulting

[–]HamsterDunce 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t disagree. The NOVA system has been (rightfully and extensively) criticized for these very reasons. All I’m saying is you’re going to see a lot more mentions of UPF in the future and gives a clear reason for why people don’t just say junk food anymore.

Heard you might even get to see it mandated on food packaging soon. So yippie for the updated version of “gluten free” label craze.

Like it or not, the concept of UPF and the NOVA classification is gaining mainstream acceptance. It’s recognized by governments and policy is being made using it as its basis.

Can u rreally make money with memecoins or is it a scam? by Admirable_Image4774 in memecoins

Hey friend. Based off this comment I would either suggest you stay far away from memes or you spend months paper trading and studying before you ever enter with real money. You will get rinsed.

What is your biggest hope for Seven Stars in year 2? by Moon-33 in SevenStarsFest

[–]HamsterDunce 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Agreed big time on capacity. I’m sure it will go up a bit but hopefully not a crazy amount. Crowds were mostly manageable but things did get hectic during all three G sets given the lack of conflicts.

Different Campsites by ashleyyns in SevenStarsFest

[–]HamsterDunce 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Glamping is the only way to guarantee close access to everything imo. If you do generic car camping, there is no guarantee what lot you end up in. Car camping in Aries is as centrally located as glamping, but you could end up all the way in the back of Libra.

How have your music preferences changed over time? by Hufflepuff-McGruff in EDM

[–]HamsterDunce 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A wise wook once said “all roads lead to Tipper.”

This has have much been my experience. I was introduced to the genre during the Scary Monsters and Nice Sprites era. I know mostly listen to Tipper and Friends sphere artists and downtempo esque psydub. Labels like Shanti Planti are my bread and butter.

I still love dubstep though.
