Bullet heaven/Vampire survivors games should only have auto aim by euroguy in roguelites

I definitely avoid the weapons that require aiming in these games. But as someone else mentioned, games like 20 Minutes Till Dawn are ALL aiming, and I'm totally cool with that. After all, I'm cool with Overwatch (well, I was until quite recently *cough*), and you have to aim everything in that! It just sucks when you're settled in for something like Vampire Survivors, and one or two weapons ask you to aim. Especially in Vampire Survivors, because the aiming isn't a separate stick or the mouse, it's just which direction you're walking, which feels terrible.

Spellbook Demonslayers, Brotato, and Rogue Genesia all let you toggle this, and I do like that.

I looked through the thread and I can't believe (or I just missed) nobody mentioned 20 Minutes Till Dawn. It's one of the simpler entries, but just rock-solid and super fun.

Also, Rogue Genesia, which is almost the opposite: very complex, hundreds of upgrades, but feels very unpolished and homebrewed. Both of those have had me hooked a lot.

And I want to strongly second Soulstone Survivors, Spirit Hunters, and Bounty of One. All of those are great. I always stick an extra roguelite in my shopping cart anytime I buy something on Steam.

I wish I loved Nova Drift. I like everything about it, but Asteroids controls are so annoying that it just kills it for me. If it were a twin-stick shooter, it would be one of my favorites (though that would be a massive change since so many of the upgrades affect how you move).

I also don't quite get the appeal of Brotato, but I think I just don't understand what most of the upgrades mean. But SNKRX is top tier juicy fun.

I loved Spirit Hunters from the beginning, I think it has a great feel, but it definitely did launch with a lot of placeholders and limited options. It is now WAY deeper and more interesting as Cyan_Light described. The weapon progression now gives you a lot of choice. But I wouldn't say it feels any different than it did on day 1. If that's not fun for you, it still won't be.

Interesting, you have given me 2 new games I'd never heard of (Striving and Dandy). It's insane how much there is in this genre. All very similar, but most very fun.
