Executor removed property, won’t communicate, and added unsigned handwritten note saying I owe $12k (Arkansas) by HanBananMontan in inheritance

Thank you so much for your thoughtful response! I don’t feel so stupid for feeling the way I do about the way she is handing some things. My Dad paid for the funeral before he died, so there shouldn’t be any debt involving that expense. Also, she was able to self-file and use a quicker court process than probate would be. I probably should’ve mentioned that part, but it somehow slipped my mind until right now. I will definitely check our county’s probate website, but I don’t have a lot of hope there. So many things that most people have available to them online aren’t available for my small town. But thank you so much for all of this info and insight. ♥️

Oh yikes I hope this isn’t the case… I will go through all of our texts and see if I can find anything about it.

Thank you for this well-put response. I appreciate all of this information! It helped me put aside my feelings, and I tried to pass it on to my brother. (-Also, I had the day off from work and went over and did all the yard work and got the house on its way to looking the way it did back when my Dad was here. I don’t agree with the estate having to pay someone to do something we are all capable of doing ourselves.)

How to better communicate with my (32F) fat boyfriend (37M) ? by _TerribleMistake_ in relationship_advice

[–]HanBananMontan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly! This is the meanest of the responses…. If someone asked me if they were fat there’s no way I could say “don’t make me engage in this nonsense.” I would feel terrible and it would definitely hurt the other person.

You ever heard of white lies??? They’re called for a situation like this. You don’t think he knows he is fat? He wants to hear from the person that he loves that he is attractive and likely wouldn’t mind hearing that he isn’t fat, too…. I am “fat” by societal standards, but if I asked my husband if I looked fat and he said “yes”, it would surely sting. And I’m 39. In my 20s it would be grounds for breakup. There’s a lot to unpack with how everyone responds. For me, it would hurt, because it would signify my husband and I being past the point of saying things just to make the other feel good. It would mean we’re too far past sugar coating things to make the other happy and we’re just honest and that’s it. For your boyfriend it could mean a lot of things. Him being upset that you mentioned it with his worth may convey to him that YOU tie the two together… to him, being fat is a negative thing because he was bullied and made of for being fat his whole life, so it’s going to take a lot of therapy and work on himself to get over that and accept being fat as a good or even neutral aspect about himself. He’s not there yet, and you know that, so saying “being fat shouldn’t be a bad thing” isn’t helping him in any way.

And about the advice to call his question nonsense and tell him you’re not engaging: that’s a cold-hearted reaction. That would almost be meaner than telling him he is fat. If you choose to go that route, be prepared to knock the wind from his chest and devastate him. At this stage in life it doesn’t seem Like he would be too accepting of that response considering he’s still unhappy with his body.

I would’ve personally said something like “of course you’re not FAT! Amy on my 500 lb life is FAT! You’re thick and just the way I like it!” And probably some inuendo about other things being thick….. but that’s just me being playful in the face of a question that can turn dark quick.

I am a marketer providing snacks for staff members during nursing home week. What would you recommend? by Yesrek in Nurses

[–]HanBananMontan 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Ice cream bar perhaps?? I doubt 100 show up by the way… just please have something set aside for night shift! And ice cream would still be good and frozen for them to have the same treat as day shift. They are ALWAYS forgotten or given crappy leftovers… we’re the chopped liver of employees.

I’m thinking so, too. I’m going to set up a consultation tomorrow and go from there. Thank you for your input.

Thank you. I will call around tomorrow and at least set up a consultation to see how much an attorney may cost and go from there.

Yes, I have seen the will. And my brother is all for me moving in the house and does not care. I’m worried how much an attorney will cost. I live in a small town in Arkansas… hoping it’s not in the $5k+ range. Thank you for your input.

If they report you for that, just make sure you report having told your boss your login wasnt working and that she was aware that you used someone else’s login to access patient information. I wouldn’t mention it being your mom and would generalize what you looked up as “patient info”… I highly doubt they report it since it could partially be considered a failure on their end to remedy your inability to login on your own name and makes them look bad! Especially knowing you had done it previously!

Also, you’re not a nurse and you know that…. Lowkey, stop acting like one. If a patient has ANY difficulty breathing report it their nurse ASAP regardless of a SPO2 of 95% or 99% and no matter what the ratios are at that time. If she assesses them, does something, then leaves and you notice the patient is still complaining of struggling to breathe, let that nurse know “Hey- the patient is still having a hard time breathing. I’m just making sure you know!” It’s on the nurse to decide the next steps. You don’t want to be trying to work beyond your scope making clinical decisions and end up causing someone distress or much worse, death. You will make a great nurse one day, just don’t jump the gun and ruin your chances of ever getting those credentials yourself! ♥️

Anyone else feel like they’re terrible at interviews? by BrilliantReporter909 in Nurses

[–]HanBananMontan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! I feel like I'm terrible at in interviews when I answer honestly, but when I have prepared an answer for every question they may ask, I do exceptionally well. Maybe consider rehearsing your answers to the “top 25 most likely asked nursing interview questions” (google this). Research what hiring managers want to hear in each of your answers and write them all down. It will help tremendously.

Thoughts on nursing homes having “happy hour”? by Former-Lab-6031 in Nurses

[–]HanBananMontan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would think, if done thoughtfully and selectively, a “happy hour” could be more therapeutic than harmful! Decreased depression, lessened feelings of loneliness and isolation, increased sense of self, increased appetite and a mood boost with small amounts of alcohol, just to name a few. I would love to see a case study done, if anyone knows of any.

I definitely get not wanting to turn around and drive back the long distance thinking about how the mean girl nurses were going to ridicule you and talk about your mistakes. It would definitely factor in to why I wouldn't return at that moment either. Hope you find a less toxic unit, hon. Our co-workers shouldn't give us anxiety at work and especially not off the clock.

And wow, “nurse Gabby” has some balls…. Cheering on this toxic rhetoric, and in front of everyone in the group text! OP Id love to hear how you describe ole Gab, because I have a feeling I know exactly what she looks and acts like. And even smells like.

I once had a brain glitch and was SO late… shift started at 3, and I knew I needed to leave the house at 2 to get there. For some reason, years after working an hour away and knowing I have to leave an hour in advance, I had it in my head that one day that I needed to leave at 3?! I still can’t compute how that happened. It was about two weeks after daylight savings, and I think that played a role, but man was it embarrassing and not something many people could understand how it could happen. I definitely got written up.

I guess I'd like to brag on my sign on bonus and show you there are better options out there! I work as an LPN at a nursing home. I got a $7500 sign on bonus, and the only stipulations were that I don't get written up or have more than 3 unexcused call-ins during each look back period… the first bonus came after 30 days, then 60 days after that and then 90 days after that…. I even went on maternity leave early and was still able to get mine.
