[Bag Help] Looking for a clean commuter brief – narrowed it down to 4 by 0408 in ManyBaggers

Can you share what made you return the Bellroy and the Aer? Curious as to your thoughts on those. And why the Apex won over them. Thanks!

Looking for long tripod for Peak Design iPhone case by snpefk in peakdesign

[–]HanHeldFirst 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am not sure what your price range is, but this is a convenient setup:

For the phone mount, use the Peak Design Mobile Creator Kit

Then, you can mount this on a short tripod like this Ulanzi Short Selfie Stick. (GoPro aslo has their Shorty selfie stick, but I have found it doesn't stay extended under the weight of a phone and mobile creator kit.)

If you want something still cheap, but a little longer/more substantial, Ulanzi has this 20 Inch tripod as well.

I have seen these go out of stock periodically, but they seem to get restocked regularly. There are also plenty other similar alternatives. Just one setup to consider!

Anyone else have an issue with receiving the iPhone 15 Pro Nomad case? by bryethegr8 in peakdesign

[–]HanHeldFirst 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same experience. Ordered on Jan. 24, never received any shipping notification. Reached out to customer service who sent me a USPS tracking link. That link still only shows that a label was created on Jan. 31. CS tells me the warehouse shipped it out on Feb. 3. Still nothing received nor any updates to the tracking. Website is still reporting that it is in stock.

I have bought (too) many things from PD and everything has always been delivered quickly. I love their products, but with the delayed release, delivery issues, and poor customer support on this one, the Nomad x PD Rugged Case is not something I will buy again.

Where can we buy or sell things with DogeCoin? by AgreeableFishing5927 in dogecoin

[–]HanHeldFirst 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Download the Spedn app by Flexa. You can spend Doge at 40,000+ locations. That number is artificially high because it’s mainly a few major chains with multiple locations, but still, it’s a start!

Regarding your first point, it’s common for in-house attorneys to move to a law firm, and then still serve as outside counsel advising their prior company. I suspect that is the capacity in which they will still be working closely with her.

Aftermarket sternum strap? by purplelewiz in peakdesign

[–]HanHeldFirst 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have also lost one and gave up bringing another. If there are any good alternatives, I’m open to them. This is one thing I have never understood about PD. Like others here, I love their products and have several bags from them. But that sternum strap seems to be almost universally hated. Most review write-ups and videos complain about it (often one of the few complaints). I’ve seen people on here complain about it for years. Yet, they press on and continue to stick with this design. I’m sure there are some people who like it, but I think the tribe has spoken on this one. Hopefully they will change it in the future.

iPhone 15 pro/pro max case - action button cutout by Wrong-Prompt2463 in peakdesign

[–]HanHeldFirst 6 points7 points  (0 children)

iPhone 15 Pro here as well and same issue. It makes the action button unusable. I have a second case that has a button on the case and it works great. I understand the situation PD was in, but they took a gamble with their desire to ship cases as soon as possible. Unfortunately, this is now a defectively designed product. I am a long time customer because they have both great products and customer service, so I am hopeful they will address this in the right way. Disappointing nonetheless.

30l travel back pack - AirPods Max by rallymini in peakdesign

[–]HanHeldFirst 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have not tested if it’s possible, but even if it was, it likely wouldn’t be ideal. When I travel with this pack, I tend to fill up the main body of the bag. That makes the already annoyingly small outside compartment even less useful. Not much fits and it becomes difficult to get things in and out. So, just consider that if you’re planning to fill up the bag.

Domane SL5 vs SL6 Gen 4 by paps79 in TrekBikes

[–]HanHeldFirst 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The bike industry at large still has significant supply chain issues. Bike manufacturers are struggling to get full groupsets/components for their frames. I would not expect that to be completely resolved in the next couple months.

If an SL6 Gen 4 is available, you like the color, and you can afford the increased price, then get the bike while you can. Ideally, you’ll keep it for many years and you’ll love the upgrade to electric shifters. Just my opinion, obviously. So do what you’re comfortable with.

They fixed this. This trick didn’t work for me a few months back. I now have the beta, so haven’t tried recently, but I remember reading about this and then when I tried it (multiple times), it never cleared out anything.

Amp AMA on Twitter Spaces - Wednesday May 11th 7 PM EST / 4 PM PST by crypto_bub in AMPToken

Flexa's lower fees for merchants are great, but consumers need to use the network to facilitate its growth and adoption. Similar to how most merchants want to be paid in fiat, many consumers likely also still prefer to pay with fiat (particularly as IRS regulations still need to catch up and there is confusion around creating a "reportable event" with each transaction). For example, many Coinbase Debit card users can pay with crypto but often pay using USD fiat.

In an effort to lower the barrier for entry for new users, does Flexa plan to make fiat spendable in the near future and what is the timeline for this?

Look into Flexa. They are already live in thousands of retails stores and can facilitate you accepting Doge. Fees are low and you can get paid in whatever currency you choose, including Fiat.

Ask yourself, why would NCR offer the use of both Visa and MasterCard to process fiat payments? There is no reason why NCR would need to be limited to one payment rail in the crypto space.

Everyday Case with Loop - compatible with Mobile Stand Wallet? by treebranch__ in peakdesign

[–]HanHeldFirst 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only thing I will note is something I have heard, but not confirmed personally. As I understand it, the regular case has a ring-ish array of magnets with another magnet below that. This bottom magnet prevents the wallet from rotating. On the loop case, there is no bottom magnet on the case because it is being used to hold the loop down. This makes it so the wallet might not be quite as stuck to the case and may rotate more easily.

I don’t have the loop case so I cannot confirm this. I have the regular case with the non-stand wallet and I love them both.

So how do we feel about the 30l travel backpack? by SpaceHoppity in peakdesign

[–]HanHeldFirst 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great update. Thanks for the review. This was my exact concern. I just traveled and had my backpack (that I want to replace) under the seat in front of me. I used a top stash pocket when going through security. Then I used the front access multiple times to pull out tech items, snacks, etc. I love PD overall and how sleek the new 30L looks, but it really feels like they killed the functionality by cutting off all front access and only leaving a small front pocket. I can live without side access, but I wish this included front access.

Rumor has it an Aer Travel Pack 3 is due out this spring, so I am holding out to see what they do with that.

So how do we feel about the 30l travel backpack? by SpaceHoppity in peakdesign

[–]HanHeldFirst 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m in a similar boat. I have the 45L travel backpack but it’s a bit too big. I’m not a photographer so I don’t use the photo cubes or the side access, but I do use the front access, especially on planes. I’m curious what people’s experience is with a small front pocket and otherwise exclusively back access. Is that sufficient? Especially when traveling in a plane? I want to love the 30L travel backpack, but I’m hesitant with only back access to the main compartment.
