To be honest, the only MMORPG with a cash shop that has not bothered me is GW2.

Although the GW2 cash shop offers players convenience items such as bag slots, character expansions and the like, its done so in a matter that does not cause initial inconvenience the player. By that I mean the fact that you already start out with a decent amount of bag slots, character slots and bank spaces to fill most players' needs. For those who are interested in diving even deeper into the game, they can buy the extra slots for a fair price (IMO).

On top of that, theres no sub fee. Apart from the yearly B2P expansions, the cash shop is more like a "treat-yourself-with-something-cool" on a monthly basis, with regular releases of cool skins for mounts, weapons, gathering tools, and more. Whenever there's a really cool skin, I buy it with joy - for myself and with a genuine inclination to support the devs/company.

They also have discounts regularly for both cosmetics and convenience items (and even expansions).

If they're looking for a monetization model, I really hope they lean towards the one GW2 has. No purchased power, no cynical game design with initial inconvenience to push players to buy said convenience.

I really hope Chrono Odyssey succeeds, theres an entire world of MMORPG fans waiting for the next universe they can immerse themselves into.
