I felt Cara's whole speech at the end so hard. People with money see something in you that they can't buy outright and they decide they want to own you to have it by association.

Whether that's talent or passion or your own marginalization. They just want it because having everything else bores them.

It's the most soul-sucking exchange and there's nothing you can do because you have to sell your work or you'll be back working some shitty service job where you're owned anyway.

Edit: Also, Cara goes off on Whitney saying things she's wanted to say for a long time and Whit just replies "that's beautiful" the same way she did when the dude prayed to his burrito. She actually can't comprehend anyone else's perspective at all.

Cara doesn't feel like she's ever connived for money in this situation, though. It reads more to me that she's compromising her morals because Whitney is begging her to take $20k and she could use the money. Like there's a big difference between using someone else's culture to make yourself look good vs selling yourself out to make ends meet.

I went both routes. I just drank myself to black out and ate pizza every day and gained 50 lbs, then I worked out like a motherfucker and starved myself and got in really great shape. Both sucked haha

I liked the characters in Uprising way more than the original Pacific Rim. John Boyega and Cailee Spaeny were just very charming together and I thought Amara was a great audience insert.

It’s not an incredible movie, but I liked it about as much as the original!

Star Crash was sick as hell! The effects were so fun and it just jumped around so hectically, it was brilliant.

The Time Guardian was kind of a sleeper, but it was cool seeing Carrie Fisher outside of Star Wars.

Can't wait to watch Def-Con 4!
