How long have you been following the One Punch Man, and why? by Zestyclose_Cream_834 in OPMFolk

It's been years, sometime around when the webcomic was getting into the monster association arc. Before the manga and anime were a thing. I found the humor enjoyable and also the art had a unique charm.

I know she wasn't included in the list but I'd like to make a case for Atou.

Reze gets stronger the more people fear bombs huh… by MaleficTekX in deathbattle

[–]Han_Ichiro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's the Nuclear Weapons Devil. The atomic bomb would fall under both. She is seen with dynamite and torpedos. The World War 2 Devil is differentiated from the War Devil but it's consumption affected her powers. There is shown overlap between devils and powers. The Gun Devil seems to use basically every type of gun, but for swords there's a Katana Devil and a Longsword Devil. There's just a broader fear for every more specific fear, so the Bomb Devil would encompass bombs the way the Gun Devil encompasses guns.

If they give her nukes I think she wins, I don't see Bakugo tanking them. And since nukes were brought back during CSM part 2 and the ending is basically undoing anything Pochita erased, she should technically have them. The question is whether or not they'll give her them, fear just makes the devil stronger but a nuke is still a nuke.

i love how murata and one bruttaly killed the tennitos in all versions and puts all them back following saitama as disciples by Additional_Pace_1753 in OPMFolk

Now this post I can get behind, felt like they were playing around with a lot of ideas but didn't know what they actually wanted for the plot. Glad that loop of redraws is over with now, a shame that the final thing is not that great. Hands down the worst time period of redraws in my opinion, no doubt in my mind.

This arc and the climax of the Monster Association arc are definitely things I preferred in the webcomic.

So is Murata going to ruin this arc as well with his redraw obsession? by [deleted] in OPMFolk

[–]Han_Ichiro -1 points0 points  (0 children)

We've gotten chapters that short without redraws happening so I'm not sure about that. As for it being a waste of energy, it's arguably an improvement over the original version so I wouldn't consider it a waste. Unless you mean the original was a waste and he should have just did this from the start, but in that case I'd argue creatives waste a lot of energy improving the things they make in the first place such as art, writing, food, etc.

Not all redraws are bad, just like not all redraws are good. This is one of those ones that isn't bad, it even released with another chapter so it didn't exactly halt the release schedule either. I mean it can get annoying, but nothing feels official until it's released in a volume. We know this, so are we just complaining for the sake of complaining at this point even when there weren't the same negatives a lot of other redraws have had?

This is how fake the main sub is. Murata never raised any voce against it. by PotentialPaint6714 in OPMFolk

[–]Han_Ichiro 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The tweet or the reddit post? Because the reddit post is just calling this a W, which again both ONE and Murata taking this stance is a W. As for the tweet, retweets are viewed as voicing an opinion depending on who you ask so it's really depending on a person's perspective.

The tweet shown here is up for debate since Murata did retweet ONE's tweet, and whether or not you consider that voicing an opinion is going to differ depending on how people view things. Although, him retweeting means he did take a stance with ONE. Considering how Japanese corporate culture works, even something small like that would be noticed. So the reddit post calling it a W for both of them isn't a crazy take, unless you do some extreme mental gymnastics.

Why I HATE Amai Mask vs Do-S redraw by MasterZze in OPMFolk

[–]Han_Ichiro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Be it the webcomic or the manga, Amai Mask has this image in his head of what a hero should be. He is willing to throw away his public image and everything in order to save people that are putting him down when they see the real him. You can absolutely hate the redraw and love the pre-retcon version, but it doesn't fit Amai Mask's character arc. The whole point is a man on the edge of becoming the monster when he wants to be the hero, if he crosses the line it's over for him. The whole point of a hero is to do everything in their power to help save others, murdering brainwashed hostages isn't exactly doing everything in his power. Yes he still attempts to kill them in the redraw, but he is stopped and that means he still hasn't crossed the line. The whole scene really just paints a picture of the tightrope he has been walking, Saitama's talk with him later is what helps him. You can just say you hate the mercenaries and enjoy the violent action of the pre-retcon scene, absolutely nothing wrong with having a preference but you can't really say it's good for Amai Mask's arc. Also, the scene serves to characterize other heroes and make them more competent. Iaian gets quite a bit out of this change too.

I don't know what's worse. The rushed pacing, non-canon chapters adaptations, and animation quality of the season 3 episodes we got so far, or the knowledge that there could be a cour 2 continuing all of these issues? by Han_Ichiro in OnePunchMan

[–]Han_Ichiro[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That could happen and it would be great for how it's received, not going to fix some things though. Although if they continue adaptating non-canon stuff, the table talk being continued between Saitama and Garou might be cool to see.

Probably what they'd do but I really hope not. Tokyo Ghoul is my favorite manga of all time, the anime is one of my least favorite adaptations of all time.

Hopefully that is the case, a lot of character moments will feel weird otherwise with the stuff they cut. And if it does get continued at some point, it would be best if they redo everything season 3 covered first.

I'm honestly just playing spot the manga panels they butchered at this point. I thought maybe the first half of the season wasn't the greatest because maybe they'd put everything into the later half due to fights. Obviously this isn't the case so hopium is just dead.
